First time going to Lisbon and after a ton of poking around, I ended up going with Lx Boutique…read moreHotel, which ended up being a solid stay due to the location, the room, and the service. As you'll see below, your mileage may vary depending on where you are expecting to go to and what you consider noisy, but I think it's a great stay. Pros: +Check-in was super smooth / friendly. The elevator was never overly crowded or took too long to get to. +There was nata and port wine available every afternoon in the lobby. Loved it. +I personally love the design of the room. Loved the art style and the design. The restroom in particular was cool / super modern and had a nice contrast against the more classic style of the hotel. The bed too was comfy and all the amenities were there from locks to hangers. Yes, water is like 2.5 euros but for the huge bottle, that's not bad at all to me. +I personally love where this is located at. It's a quick walk to the Tagus and a lot of the coastal sights, restaurants and not too far from other metros. Also easy to hail a taxi. Also, if you like to party/go to Pink Street, its so close and easy to get to. Pro/Con: +/- Noise-wise, I was placed in a room on the 2nd floor near the alleyway. I heard a tiny bit of noise from the busy Pink Street area below, so it wasn't that bad. Would just check in with the lobby to see if you can be placed higher if you think the noise is going to be an issue. Also, if you're not going to be going to Pink Street at all, you may run into both drunken party patrons or the 'drug dealers' accidentally as you try to get elsewhere. Wasn't a big deal and can just ignore them, but just as a FYI. +/- The rooms have a slightly weird card system in which you have to keep your card near the key reader in order to open. The trick (as someone in the lobby taught me) was just to press up the higher part of the card against the reader and hold it there. Cons: -There was only one plug that I could find in the room, so if you need a few items that need charging, you will just have to make sure to change things out. -Super small desk. So if you need to work or want to read/write at a desk, it'll be a bit tough. Love that it was so close to Time Out Market and the metro/train station to some of the other cities. Would def. go back!

The location is perfect - quick access to Cais do Sodre and Baixa-Chiado stations. The bed and room were both comfortable. Unfortunately our "Classic" room's view had of the backside of another building but we did appreciate the balcony. Breakfast was not included in our rate. Coffee is not available in the rooms or lobby in the early morning and the breakfast seemed to have a late start. Thankfully, there's a pastelaria across the street on the corner. The bathroom was very sleek and modern, but the entire wall and floor (including inside the step-in shower) is covered in some strange fabric. I cannot imagine what the actual floor beneath that fabric in the shower looks like in regard to hair and soap residue. The shower had a traditional European wand option and a ceiling-mounted head, not making it convenient for women who don't want to get their hair wet to shower.

She was right! Insanely spacious, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast, rooftop deck, restaurant upstairs. Beautiful common area on the mezzanine level to enjoy a coffee and pastry taking a respite during the afternoon between seeing the city. All in all, Bairro Alto was great! Walked from here to two Michelin two starred restaurants, an amazing pizza place, walking tour of the city, the world's best chocolate cake, and so much more. There is really everything right here you would want. Keep in mind it's a classic boutique hotel. That means small and narrow elevators. So sometimes you just have to be a little patient. Come for the friendly service, amazing location, comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, and know that this is a great place to stay in the heart of Lisbon. Highly recommend. Tip: If you are staying over the weekend, get a floor as high as you can and/or have a sound machine if you want to sleep well because the street noise is loud with people out and about on Friday and Saturday nights.

We arrived at 7pm and the staff quickly checked us in with no issues. Once we got on our floor, we were a bit taken back by how old and dated the hotel was. The lights were also motion censored, so the hallway felt like a haunted house. Actually, the entire hotel felt like it was haunted. The rooms also left a lot to be desired, but we did have a semi decent view of the city. The bathroom was also very small and the shower was a bit complicated. We weren't in the room for long as we quickly changed, headed out to dinner, and by the time we came back, it was time to go to sleep for our flight the next morning. Overall, they have an amazing staff, but the hotel really needs some TLC.

Everything about this hotel was positive from the nicely furnished room with super comfortable bed, to the amenities-including the chromotherapy shower-to the fantastic breakfast, and mostly the service. All the people at the front desk and dedicated concierges were super friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions, tourist suggestions, and travel suggestions (useful since a train strike was in effect during my stay). The head of the housecleaning department even repaired (sewed) a pair of pants I tore on my visit-talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. The hotel offers its guests a number of freebies that are much appreciated. Besides complimentary cook to order breakfast the hotel offers 3 free walking tours around the city and in room mini bar items-such as water, soft drinks, and beer-are also complimentary. The hotel even has various snacks (cookies, snacks, some food items) offered to guests in the lobby entrance as well as a daily happy hour. One final bonus are the 17th century ruins in the downstairs lounge area. Finally, the location is excellent. Corpo Santo is about a minute walk from Pink Street, 5 minute walk from Time Out Market, and very close to a number of tourist attractions in a less densely populated area than other hotels I looked at as well as a short walk from the water. Very easy for Uber drivers to find the hotel. This was my first visit to Lisbon but if I return I will definitely stay again at Corpo Santo. Muito bom!!

The staff was friendly, accommodating, and really knew how to be hospitable. The room was fantastic! It had a full kitchen, washing machine, an actual king bed (rare in Europe), massive pillows, and everything you could need if you were traveling with a kid. The hotel restaurant is small, so you can have breakfast delivered to your room. You kind of need to go to breakfast your first morning to see what options to have and then you can order online for any future mornings. The croissants were always delivered warm and it a little pouch to keep them that way. They smelled heavenly. They also have some of the best pasteis de nata and in the early morning they're warm! The location was great! You did have to walk up a bit of a hill, but it's Lisbon. My only tip would be to stay at this hotel at the end of your trip or only stay here because they will spoil you.

I know bunk beds can be nerve wracking with little kids, but the hotel had bumpers installed for safe sleeping. Location wise, you're in the heart of the city with lots of restaurants and shops within close walking distance. It'd be hard not to recommend this hotel, unless you are traveling with no kids or on a business trip.

From the moment I started emailing them after I made the reservation because I wanted to inquire about a cake for my friends who were celebrating their birthdays, to when we finished our meal, the staff here did not miss a beat. Our reservation was at 9pm for 5 people on our last night in Lisboa. Our flight from Tenerife South was delayed so we had to push our reservation back. I emailed them and they swiftly responded letting me know that as long as we were there before 9:30pm, we were all set to go. We arrived at 9pm and were greeted by the lovely hostess at the door. She was also my point of contact regarding the cake they were making for my friends. Unfortunately, it was raining so we could not sit outside, but the inside of the restaurant was just as cozy and quaint. Our waitress came over with a complimentary glass of champagne for the table and took our drink orders. I opted for a mocktail and my friends got the mojito and sangria (I think). Now, it was time for food and here's what we got: - spicy chicken wings (7/10) -pica-cau (7/10) -portobello mushroom burger (10/10) -roasted octopus (9/10) -oxtail croquette (7.5/10) -spicy garlic king prawn (9/10) -crispy swordfish bao (10/10-- the kitchen closed and we begged the chef to make us another one. That's how good it was) So as you can see, we made sure to try everything on the menu, for the most part. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the ambience was so inviting. Also, the cake they made for my friends was so cute and we got to share it with some other patrons in the restaurant. We had such an amazing time here that I'm going to make it a mission of mine to recommend this restaurant to everyone who is visiting Lisboa. P.S: Their prices are affordable!!

The last leg of our honeymoon could not of been better! Lisbon, I will return one day to conquer you...I promise. And when I return there is a good chance I will stay at Hotel Do Chiado. The hotel was a bit hard to find (thanks to me NEVER taking proper notes on how to get to our hotels - it's like a vacation tradition we always get lost finding the hotel.) but the locals were nice enough to lead us in the right direction. At the bottom of a hill, on a semi-main street is the entrance. The lobby was nice, and the front desk staff was extremely nice - spoke English, Spanish and Portuguese. They welcomed us, gave us a rundown of amenities and we were on our way. Quick & easy. Perfect. We opted to pay a little more and get a room with a better view when we reserved. WORTH IT. GET THIS UPGRADE. It wasn't much more but the room/view was phenomenal. First of all, it comes with your own terrace. I don't mean a depressingly small, cramped balcony. No. I mean a large open air terrace with a table, chairs, grass and amazing view of the Castle of Sao Jorge and city. SO NICE. We missed out on eating/sipping at the restaurant/bar on the top floor which has another awesome view. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel (maybe I was just DEAD TIRED). The room was spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent. It's easy to get to from the airport and surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and a mall. There was a ton of activity on a Sunday afternoon with people shopping, hanging out and just walking around. Most seemed to be locals which was kind of cool. We ended up eating in the mall food court (I know, I know...it's a sin!) but it was actually pretty good. A huge plate of food with rice, beans, meat and plantain. It was great and reminded me of the Brazilian meals I have had at my buddy's house. I wish we had more time in the city. Unfortunately this was where I crashed after the longest three weeks of my life that included 6 flights, my wedding, training for a new job, honeymoon and walking around Rome. I crashed in that previously mentioned bed like a rock in a river. BEST. BED. EVER. as far as I am concerned - my wife might disagree!
