This small shop on the Parade has everything my heart desires when it comes to kitchen appliances. Whether I need cutlery, mugs, pots or serving dishes, House manages to have a really nice selection at very good prices. They often change their stock and have something new almost every week. Sale items are mainly located in front of the shop on a little table but I found that, if you have a browse inside, you always find the one or other discounted item in-between their fully packed shelves. They stock all the well-known brands such as Scanpan or Salt and Pepper and staff are always friendly and helpful. I especially love their selection of mugs and every time I walk past the shop window, something new and beautiful has appeared. Beware if you go in here because it is very likely that you'll end up spending some money. read more

I generally don't like this chain, and this particular store isn't really terribly different, except that I think the service is a little bit friendlier. In many of the stores, I feel like I'm dealing with Prue or Trude from Kath and Kim, but not so much here. The stuff is largely overpriced. I was lucky enough to score a good Kitchenaid mixer for my wedding present, and though I'd stop in here to price up some accessories. I almost burst out laughing when I read some of the prices - which I then found online for about a third of the price quoted at House. I do occasionally buy a few of the cheaper items, though. They've got a range of really colourful Masterchef branded utensils which aren't overly expensive and seem to do the job, so if you see these, I recommend them. read more

I was actually pretty impressed by this place, a lot of kitchen shops have staff that make you feel a little uncomfortable but here the staff were friendly and don't bother you while you browse and check out everything you could possible wish for in a kitchen. While they do have some expensive items they also have a lot of items at really good prices so I think anybody could find a few bits and pieces within there budget. read more
