I stayed here for one night on travel and I will say that for the money it was very nice. My bed…read morewas comfortable and the room was nice and clean. Spacious for a room in Europe. I did not get to swim in the indoor pool but they have one and they have nice recreation room with a pool table and a few other things. The bar and restaurant were also very nice. The bartender was absolutely adorable. They had Bitburger, Erdinger Weissbräu & Guinness on draft and a nice selection of Whiskey to include Woodford Reserve Bourbon. They had a limited selection menu due to off season but the selection was quality. They offered Schnitzel of course with traditional mushroom gravy if you choose, a garden salad and fries. This is what I ordered minus the gravy and it was fantastic. The fries were amazing. They also offered a steak with a peppercorn demi glace topped with sautéd onions served with a garden salad and fried potatoes. I tried the potatoes and again, delicious. The last option was a burger with fries. I was with several people and everyone said that the food was amazing. The only problem I had was things took forever but hey, welcome to Europe. My final thoughts, great place. The staff was great and spoke good English which was important because my German sucks! The WiFi was reasonably priced for Europe. I think that a lot of old timers stay at this place but I wouldn't let that stop you if you are in the area. For the price, you can't beat it. One thing to note is they only take Euro or Credit Cards, no American Dollar.

I am reviewing the spa service, not the hotel stay (I did not stay overnight). The food at the…read morerestaurant was also very good. The spa services were not good. My husband and I requested 1 hour deep tissue massages. We got a lady who had so much trouble pressing hard that she actually started to throw her body weight down and use her palms on me. I should have asked if they were certified. She also wrapped us in plastic and left us for 20 minutes of the 60 minute massage. Not quite sure what that was about. After that I should have stayed away from the pedicure and manicure but got one anyways. It was the same lady -- and I actually had to take the nail file and show her that I wanted her to actually create a smooth edge on my toenails. All she had done was file them in the shape they were in -- and my nails do not grow out straight (they grow out "wavy"). She didn't use any pumice stones on my foot. It was so bad that I actually didn't even bother looking at my nails and correct their shape, I just wanted it to be over. Honestly the only reason I thought the mani/pedi would be ok was I thought the service was in another area of the hotel and didn't imagine it would be the same person. Hugely disappointed -- do not go here for a real massage.

I have stayed in this hotel and eaten many meals there. Stefan and his staff are extremely friendly…read morewithout being intrusive. The food is outstanding and well worth the somewhat steep price. If you eat one place on your visit to Rheinland-Pfalz, it better be here!

We would like to review only the restaurant as we did not stay at the hotel. We dined there for our…read moreanniversary, and it was fantastic. We chose the 4 course "surprise" menu, each dish that came out was something selected and prepared at the chef's discretion. First out were panko breaded/fried mushrooms that they grew themselves, but they were far from "fried," perhaps air fried, however they were truly prepared they were one of the best things we've ever tasted! Along with the mushrooms were some fresh greens and vegan "bacon." Second out was called "Kiss from the sea," a soup presented in a glass with a delectable dumpling, some sort of foam with a sprig of dill, all coming together quite nicely. I must describe the main course as delicious, it was a combination of a "meat" prepared with seitan, and with dinkel wheat blanket, wrapped around fresh asparagus, kraut and mashed potatoes. The flavors of all of it together were perfect. Our meal was finished with a delicious chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, a rhubarb puree and the sweetest strawberry ever, along with a shot of their own vegan egg nog. With our meal we enjoyed a medium dry, "feinherb" Reisling recommended by our server. Although we asked for suggestions, she did not push the most expensive wine, which was refreshing, as many establishments would do so. The courses all came in a timely manner, the staff was friendly and the entire meal was a pleasant experience.

Totally loved staying here! So yes this is a vegan restaurant and hotel and even if you are not…read morevegan you need to give it a try! The food is amazing and we stayed here including breakfast. Usually when breakfast is included you get the cheap stuff but not at this place - fresh orange juice, fresh fruit Salat, gluten free options, homemade sauces and vegetables from their garden. The hotel is outdated but for the price you can't go wrong. I also love you can bring your dog for a small fee. If you don't want to stay here at least try their restaurant ! Service was a bit slow at times and not super attentive but the food is worth it by far.
