We realised quickly that we'd ordered too much and it was getting late so we asked them to stop cooking. I think they were relieved. If we had arrived earlier we could have sat at the outdoor terrace which had a lovely view. The rooms are very comfortable and unique. The amenities were very nice. There's cool art all around. The WiFi kind of, sometimes worked and the owner didn't seem keen on us staying at the bar too long after dinner. One of our rooms had a sitting area so we moved there for a nightcap. There's street parking and the roads are extremely NARROW so drive and park with caution.

Trust me! No, really, TRUST me! The tiny hotel used to be an ancient Olive oil mill dating back to the 1700's (yes, the 18th century). In 2002 the private residence was bought by the current owners and opened to the public as a 6 room hotel. (During that time there were no other hotels in the area.) The interior of the hotel is spectacular and each room is decorated differently and named after individual olives that are specific to the region. Rosa is the sweetest and most wonderful host. She made us feel so warmly welcomed and spent time with us showing us the property and telling us all the history, olives, wine of this lovely retreat and the surrounding enchanting tiny city that is Calaceite. The staff was nice and helpful. Even though there isn't a fitness center on site, there is one next door that guests can use for free. The hotel is within walking distances to a supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants. Parking is in an underground garage that is located a few blocks away and costs €16/night.

The hotel offers parking for an additional fee although spaces are much tighter than what you would find in the US so don't plan to get an oversized vehicle in this parking garage! The folks at the front desk here are exceptionally helpful, offering maps, directions, and any special assistance which we fully utilized when one of our locks got stuck on a suitcase! Rooms are sparse and moderately sized, but are clean have all the basic amenities, including safes and air-conditioning. The lobby provides a business work area, the lounge in the evening, and the area in the morning, where breakfast is served, continental style at an additional cost per person.
