We were on an Amalfi Coast private tour (just the two of us) and the driver brought us here for lunch. The view is spectacular, the hotel beautiful and the food delicious. We had a caprese salad, risotto with shrimp and lemon delight (dessert) with house white wine. Couldn't have been better. read more

Here is the trip advisor review I did from my Gmail account. The pillows and comforter were adorned with hair, and an unmistakable moldy odor permeated the room upon entry. To our surprise, a wedding ceremony took place just outside our room, extending late into the night, a fact that was unfortunately never communicated to us. In our attempt to address the matter with the general manager, we were met with an aggressive response, including profanity and a willingness to resort to physical confrontation. Shockingly, despite being compelled to relocate due to these issues, the general manager adamantly refused any form of refund. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment and sincerely hope that others are spared from encountering similar distressing situations. read more

It was the worst service I have ever had. The food tasted horrible. We asked for a ribs sauce, and we didn't get it until we were done eating. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This hotel has amazing views and great bones and the staff was nice but other than that it was a huge disappointment. The entire property is tired and needs to be spruced up. The rooms have beautiful historic tile but the bedding is no better than Walmart quality and doesn't match or coordinate. All of the furniture in the common areas have outlived their useful life. The free breakfast was free for a reason as no one would ever pay for it. The bacon was uncooked every morning and the eggs...well I have never had hotel eggs worth eating. The dinner was not worth eating and I have never ordered a dirty martini that was served in a highball glass with mint and brown in color (Apparently "dirty" has a different meaning here). In general stick with the wine wherever you go as we couldn't find a decently made cocktail any place. The pool was filthy as well. Unfortunately this hotel appears to be on the brink of distraction. Possible with new ownership and a little cash this place could be amazing. read more

My girlfriend and I travelled to the Amalfi coast back in August and we were lucky enough to stay here for three days. We'd seen pictures, but we planned on relatively short notice (6 weeks) and were shocked at how awesome this place was. They upgraded our room to a sea view with a balcony before we even asked (we paid ahead of time and asked for an upgrade if possible in an email) and it was seriously badass. The bed was a little firm but the bathroom was amazing and out balcony was really nice looking out over the coastline of Maiori and Minori. This place was across from the venue where the Ravello Festival is held and it's one of the most beautiful stages I've ever seen. It's literally across the street, as are two great restaurants. It's about a five minute walk to the town square which is nice and quaint and has a ton of great spots to eat and drink coffee and hang out. Great shop with a nice wine cellar there too. The hotel had by far the best food I ate the entire times ravello. Breakfast everyday was a ridiculous fresh buffet of anything you would ever want on a late patio overlooking the coast. I couldn't stop staring out into the distance while I stuffed my face. This patio is also where you have dinner or lunch and its next to the sun deck and infinity pool which also goes inside. Ridiculous how awesome it is. The service was unreal. These guys were attentive, friendly, courteous, professional and overall just likable. They took great care of us and I would go back in a moment. The rate was affordable especially for how cool this place is. Don't question it, book a room and go. read more

This was the first hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon along the Amalfi Coast. There are two entrances to the hotel which is a little confusing. We were dropped off at the entrance by the road and had to take an elevator up to the 7th floor to check in. The two best things about this hotel are the location to the main square and the main dining patio. You can easily walk anywhere from this hotel which is really nice. And the patio where they serve the food is beyond gorgeous with the most amazing views. The wait staff is also great and very attentive. We had issues with air conditioning and hot water and the hotel didn't work very hard or fast to get these things fixed. I thought the pool was pretty small and sort of hidden from the sunlight at times. The best pools are at the two 5 star hotels next door, but of course those are much nicer hotels. Wi fi in the rooms worked great read more

This was probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in, from the service to the actual hotel. The whole hotel smelled of mildew, especially the rooms. The sheets and the furniture absorbed the smell. The rooms were a nice size but the furniture was ancient. We could not find one comfortable chair to even sit on. In regards to the bed, they provide a very small memory foam mattress that you just sink into. It provided no support whatsoever. For the amount of money we spent here for one night, 625 euros, they oversold and under delivered their product which is unacceptable. If you have the money to spend to stay here, please stay somewhere else. The hotel should have not cost more than 200 euro a night. The hotel has wonderful views, however all of Ravello is a fantastic view. The hotel brands itself as a 4-5 Star hotel, with the price per night to match but is nothing short of a disaster. It's a shame too because the hotel truly has luxurious potential. We were so uncomfortable and so unhappy we went back to a hotel in Sorrento. read more

Don't give this hotel your credit card number. Thought I made a reservation. Contacted the hotel to cancel it. They emailed me back saying they did not have a reservation for us. A few months later our credit card was charged 598 euros for a 2 night stay we never had and if we did, had cancelled. Ever since, about 6-8 months now, I have been unable to get a refund. Worse still, they now ignore my emails. read more

At first when you walk into the lobby Villa Fraulo seems nice but once you get into the body of the hotel one can see that there is no care going into this hotel. The spa area is tired as well as the pool area. The landscape of the hotel is weeds mixed in with some plantings that are barely alive. The lounge area, which is above the pool is unappealing. We finally made it to our room and it just got worst. The air-conditioning was worthless and the decor is straight out of the 60's 70's. The towels are frayed and the room smelled like mildew. We told the front desk and the response was priceless. I was told that the air-conditioning is working that it was because it was humid outside that the a/c wasn't working as good as it could. That was funny to me because friends of ours are staying at the Caruso and we went into their room and there was no problem with the a/c and the humidity is the same at that hotel as it is at ours. To address the mold smell, the front desk sent down a can of air-freshener to get rid of the smell. I could be wrong but by the air vent there is black spots that look to me to be mold. What really gets me mad is that the front desk clerks really don't seem to care. There are so many other things about this place that I can't think straight. We tried to move to different hotels in the area but they are all booked because if there were any openings we would be out of here asap. read more
