It's a great place to make memories. I am writing this review for Seecamp as a winter camping…read moreplace, which we did for a number of years, and revisited this summer with our now grown sons. Old times came flooding back when we entered the reception building at Seecamp this August of 2018. We were looking at the live fishes from back when. We noticed how the porch had now been extended and has great lounging couches. We were especially looking forward to greeting Willy, our Austrian, highly adorable, interesting host. Willy has received us with everything from instant friendship to laughing at our frustrations (I managed to leave the key to our camper at home one year) to practical solutions (leave your wooden porch disassembled at the back holding area). And he is just as personable as ever, remembering drilling through our front door lock. And then there was (still is!) Angelika, now head of the restaurant. We were among the first people to sign up for the 2006 New Year's Eve party and she did a superjob writing the menus and decorating the (newly enlarged) dining room. The party with fireworks stands out in my mind as to celebrations we have attended. It was a load of fun as a family with our (then young) boys staying up for the first time until midnight. We totally enjoyed having our winter vacations at the Seecamp camp ground. There are boot warming rooms and warm places to allow your ski clothes to dry. Public spaces such as bathrooms, showers and dish-washing areas are clean and kept clean. Washing room has a drying rack as well. For children there is a separate inside play room with a big bathtub full of balls and table tennis in case of inclement weather. And of course, the outside play area has a pirate ship and other wooden amenities. One fall they offered pony rides and our boys were treated to their first horseback ride. Oh, those faces! A beautiful trail winds along the lake. Some places have a direct view of the lake, but then you need to put yourself on the waiting list. Fantastic camp ground with loads of fun possibilities!
