I had booked 2 separate night stays at hotel Solar do Rosario in Ouro Preto, Brasil with the first…read morebeing from March 1-2 and the second booking being from March 2-3. We had communicated with the hotel stating our travel plans had changed due to covid testing issues and that we simply asked to be able to checkin early on March 2 since we had already paid for the night of March 1-2. Unfortunately travel issues continued allowing us to miss our Ouro Preto trip. The hotel in general was not very compassionate about even allowing for a partial refund due to our unfortunate experience perhaps indicating some managerial issues with the institution.

The rooms are comfy, clean and well decorated, in the atmosphere of the town. The lobby is really cool, with sofas, books and balconies from where we watched the Easter procession. On the way to the roof top swimming pools, I discovered more rooms and outside spaces to relax. If Ouro Preto wasn't so nice, I could easily have spent my days in here. It's not easy to park your car in the street but the hotel will take care of it for you. The staff is really nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast is pretty good too, the also bring warm pao de queijo at your table.
