This is about what you'd expect from a 2* hotel in a big urban area. The place was functional and cheap, and the bed was firm. The location was good - the cathedral was only 15 mins walk away. There was free parking too. It was also the first time I've seen the temperature displayed on the aircon, which was brilliant. There was also a bidet, which was nice (I stayed in 4 hotels in Portugal and this was the only place with one)
On the downside, there's dim lighting in the room & common areas (though there was a bright table lamp in the room which helped). The room's insulation wasn't great but cranking the heating way up meant it was ok (RIP hotel power bills, but from the guest's perspective that isn't a downside). WiFi was also somewhat inconsistent. read more
