They upgraded me to a nice room with private bathroom for no charge. This is a hostal but also has nice rooms with private bathrooms. My room had a balcony with a lovely view of a side street. Side streets in Barcelona are my favourite due to their charm. My room was very nice as well as the bathroom. But my five stars comes mostly from the people who run the hotel. They are incredibly friendly. Kindness always gets 5 stars from me! I would have a chat with them on my way and out. But one thing that stood out for me was my last day. My flight was in the early hours so I went to the airport at night and had all day to kill time. They let me store my luggage... which is normal. But also offered me to have a shower and a few hours sleep before going to the airport. Without charge. I just thought the offer was lovely and so very kind. I declined and instead headed to the airport. But how nice! I highly recommend this hotel. Also a note, it's much cheaper to book direct from their website. 10% less. Wish I would have checked their website before booking through a 3rd party!

Check-in was easy and the staff were very kind. They were bilingual and spoke English, making check-in that much easier. Since our room wasn't ready when we got in, we were able to store our luggage and wait. They even offered us complimentary beers and snacks for the inconvenience. We sat out on the large open patio and embraced the sweeping views of the city of Barcelona and Balearic Sea while we sipped our drinks. There are walking grounds to get better views of the city from the elevated hill as well as a rose garden. The grounds are kept up nicely and it makes for a nice and safe walk both day and night. We especially loved the evening views as the sun set across the city and reflected onto the waters. When we got to our room, we were impressed with the size of our suite! We paid a little extra for the city view balcony. Unfortunately, the sign for Hotel Miramar was directly in our view which was annoying, considering we paid extra. However, we didn't use the balcony nearly as much as we thought we would. Just keep in mind that your city view could very well be a view of the hotel signage. Our bed was comfortable and the amenities were plentiful. We especially enjoyed the complimentary Nespresso and tea. The tea was outstanding and I wish I had bought that brand to take home, it's local to Barcelona and could have been easily purchased. The living area was convenient to keep our luggage and other personal items. Both rooms had TVs but we didn't really use them as we were busy exploring the city from dawn to dusk. One of the biggest perks to stay with Hotel Miramar is that it is a bus stop with Bus Turistic, a touring bus company. Since we used Bus Turistic as our personal taxi to get around the city, it was super convenient to hop on and off and not have to deal with the steep incline hike to our hotel. Check-out was easy and they called us a cab to take us to the airport. Overall, it was a really nice stay, we just wished we didn't pay that extra amount for the "city view" balcony which was blocked by letters. We would absolutely come back and stay again.

The location is truly unbeatable - just a block away from Plaça de Catalunya, a couple of blocks from a major metro stop and several main bus lines, a few blocks from great shopping and with good casual food scattered throughout. It's a great central spot for sightseeing where you're primarily relying on public transit, but also quiet and safe if traveling solo. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. As others noted, it's steps from the beach and central to walking about Sitges. Many of the restaurants and shops were just behind it. To the right is the castle area plus additional beaches and shops. To the left is the residential area with a few other hotels and plenty more beach space. The pool was tiny but most places in the area. It also didn't get much sun when we were there... but you're steps to the beach so not a big deal. The front desk was helpful and it was nice that they always had lemonade and smoothies free for guests. This was great on warm days. They also provide welcome cava drinks on their rooftop patio overlooking the ocean as well as vouchers for free drinks at various bars. The breakfast is also very comprehensive. Pastries, hot Spanish breakfast (assortment of seafood and stews), multiple coffee options, charcuterie, cheeses and made to order eggs. It's one of the best we've ever had. Would definitely stay here again!

New portable fans for the rooms helped a bit. Breakfast buffet is excellent and worth the extra cost. Along with English and Spanish breakfast, there is a huge variety of Continental selections.

I'll start off with the pros: - friendly staff that go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a pleasant stay - Location of hotel is amazing within walking distance of the city center and many points of interest - I can see Sagrada Familia from my balcony - The rooms are clean - Thermometer located in room to allow you to control temperature - Beds are relatively comfortable - Plugs located next to the bed to allow you to charge phone - Water pressure is great - Shower is large and comes with shampoo, conditioner and body wash - WiFi is strong and steady - The double beds are close together but there is plenty of room to separate them (see pic where I moved one of the beds against the wall) - Rooms equipped with mini fridge and coffee machine/hot water kettle - Room was a decent size with lots of closet and storage space - breakfast is good with a lot of options - exterior and interior of hotel is gorgeous Cons: - no usb ports so you need to bring an adapter - The twin beds tend to slide and move on the floor - The bathroom door providers little to no privacy. You can literally hear everything as there is a big gap in the door and no lock. All in all, the pros outweigh the cons. The amazing customer service and friendly staff made my stay well worth it. The location was also amazing. I would definitely stay here again but, if sharing a room, make sure you are intimately comfortable with the person you're with given the lack of bathroom privacy. Also, they overcharged both myself and my friends at checkout. Make sure to check and double check all fees and get a receipt.

We reported it immediately, and while the staff was polite, management offered only a bottle of Cava as compensation -- which doesn't address the core issue since neither of us drinks. We requested either a room upgrade or a night credit to reflect the inconvenience, but were told the manager wouldn't be available until our checkout day. That means during the weekend there is no one present to take care of potential problems with the rooms. We were offered a lateral move to an identical room, which seemed like it solved their problem rather than ours. If you stay here, be prepared that maintenance issues may not be resolved quickly, and compensation for significant room problems may be limited. The location is nice, but we'd recommend clarifying their damage and compensation policy before booking. UPDATE: We were able to talk to the manager over the phone. The 'deal' that was given to us: they won't charge us for the final night if we check out a night early. That's right. Leave early and we won't charge you for services we do not provide. How thoughtful.

Rooms are on the smallish side, as through most of Europe, yet they are kept clean and the beds new with nice firm mattresses. So I really slept great here!! The location was convenient, around 15 minute walk from Plaza de Cataluña and Las Ramblas. And nearby some nice restaurants like Cu Cut and Teleferic. The two minuses were the Wi-Fi which I had to reset 6-7X per day just to get the connection to work. Also, the overactive cleaning person would just open my door w/o knocking at 9am every morning. Not great for jetlagged travelers, so make sure to deploy that 'Do Not Disturb' sign accordingly. Unlike some other reviews, I stayed on the 3rd floor and did NOT notice any funky hallway smells. Hotel Granados 83 is also highly rated on TripAdvisor and for good reason. Would recommend this spot for those staying in Barcelona.
