It's close to beaches and beatiful villages like e.g. Cala Gonone (from which you can take a small boat to Cala Luna - one of the world's most beautiful beaches - well worth a visit). The bar has sandwiches available for lunch or you can head over to a few nearby locations. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport in Olbia and easily accessible by taxi or shuttle. Taxi and shuttles cost about the same,. however the quality of car and driver will vary. The dinner menu is mostly a fixed surf and turf with appetizer, first and second course, and dessert. Cost is above average for dinner but extremely convenient if you spend all day on a sea excursion and/or at the beach. Within a 15 minute walk you can enjoy another couple of beaches frequented by locals. Most are similar to the private hotel beach. The white sand and turquoise water is mainly off the island and all water is extremely clear and vibrant with life. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you arrive early, you can park your bags in the lobby and enjoy the pool, beach, excursion, etc without interuption. I recommend arriving early and making plans as some flight options arrive at night wasting a day. Extremely relaxing, extremely nice amenities, rooms are nice, beds are a bit stiff but the blankets are locally sourced stitched quilts. View is amazing. And convenience of snorkeling is incomparable.

We booked a normal room but since we were there somewhat after the high season, we got the family apartment (with kitchenette) for the same price. This apartment has an enourmous terrace a stunning view on the Gulf of Orosei. The breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Sardinia and offered the most variation. The last day, we could not have breakfast due to our early flight, but the evening before we received a picnic basket with fruit, yoghurt, toasts, marmelade,... The hotel is somewhat older but is recently decorated and has a pool and good WiFi connection (only in common areas). We couldn't have a better stay in Cala Gonone than there.
