This felt a bit awkward to me, but only because I had forgotten about this instruction in a prior e-mail I'd received, and therefore wasn't expecting it. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Decoration varied. One room was more modern, another was completely...bizarre, to be honest. It made me feel like I was living in an antique shop. I appreciated the unique atmosphere. (The bathroom was completely modern, and even included shampoo, soap, shoe horns and shower caps.) Great location. There were a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars in the area that were very much worthwhile. You could also walk to the main attractions (Marienplatz) easily if you wanted to. There's also access to public transportation very close by. The breakfast was included, and was very good. The spread wasn't obscenely large, but the food was delicious, as was the coffee (French Press, made fresh!!!) The very nice lady who ran the breakfast sliced fresh ham as soon as she noticed it was getting low, and checked in to make sure you had everything you needed. Additionally, the atmosphere of the breakfast was very nice. Quality tablecloths, matching china...very fancy.

Very easy to get to from the Munich Airport. Staff spoke English and German. Rooms are clean and cozy, plenty big enough for 2. The included buffet breakfast was excellent included eggs, sausages, fruits, breads/croissants, etc. You could also order coffees, including mochas and lattes, and hot chocolate. Great way to start the day. Our favorite part was the cookies and pretzels they left throughout the day. Every time we came back to the hotel we grabbed a few cookies. Delicious!

It seemed pretty pricey to me - over 500 Euros for 3 nights - but since I'm an American who is used to having A/C in every building all the time, it was definitely worth the cost so that I could enjoy my few days in Germany (after suffering through a day or two in an un-air-conditioned AirB&B). Besides, this hotel is in walking distance from many wonderful attractions and restaurants in Munich, so its cost is absolutely justified! Will definitely stay there again if and when I return to visit Munich :)

There is only 1 elevator in the hotel. breakfast Buffett is 15 euro or about $17 US dollars. Will check it out Sunday. You are about 1/4 mile away from the center of Munich which is the starting point for your fun, the MarienPlatz. Will add photos of the hotel later. Starting with 1 star. Breakfast is limited, no hot foods. Just cold cut meats, breads and cheeses with coffee and juices. Photos below. A total of 5 stars. Anytime I required more towels or anything at the lobby I was given it. Only issue was my shower leaked into the bathroom floor. A few towels to stop it and I was good to go. Just about 5 minute walk to the U-barn and 10-15 minutes to Marie Square. Easy and fast. Also, 10 minute walk to the outdoor market as well. Off to Switzerland soon. Have fun.

We did not cancel for fun; it was an emergency. We would not have stayed at all, except we could not get an earlier flight. Emergencies happen and they must be more flexible. We will never stay here or one of their other hotels again based on this alone, but there were other things we disliked about the hotel as well. The lobby was beautiful, but the hotel room itself was cold, ugly, and spartan. The shower both had a rain shower and a handheld. In the middle of using the rain shower, some metal piece fell off the handheld (which I was not touching, using, or near). There is little light in the room, making it difficult to see things. Not sure why it was difficult to put bigger overhead lights and lamps in the room, but the lights are tiny and do not do much. The lobby reeks of cigar smoke because of their cigar bar that they open to clean at night. Cigar smoke makes me extremely nauseous; they needed to provide a disclaimer before staying here. I never would have booked here had I known. We ordered apple streusel for dessert at the hotel restaurant and ate (included) breakfast; both had no flavor. The apple streusel was flavorless. The breakfast looked better than it tasted. None of the items in the hot buffet were hot. Although they provided pretzels, Target used to serve better ones when was younger (side note: I wish Target would bring their pretzels back). Essentially, I've had better service and stay in Holidays Inns in the US. Holiday Inns smell better too. Our stay was not acceptable from this highly rated, expensive hotel. It was not worth it whatsoever and extremely disappointing. The only pro: the bell hops were extremely kind and nice.

While Uhland is a bit far from the centrum of Munich with bikes (which we brought) get you into town quickly.
