We really liked it! We had a huge room with a view of the harbor. It was very clean and located on the harbor.

I love a good hotel and I aim to be impressed! This will be my second BW stay in 2016 where I am thoroughly blown away. As a last minute decision my husband and I decided to stay overnight in Bonifacio. For 1 night only. We searched for the cheapest rate possible on booking.com on our phone, then immediately booked a room at the Best Western Hôtel du Roy D'Aragon. Not only is the hotel on the waterfront, it is the very first hotel on the south facing side of the port. For the price which I believe was €106 I was shocked at how fabulous it was. Looking across the water I kept saying to myself, this is the lowest rate on the block?! All of the other places didn't even seem to be in the same category of class as the Hôtel du Roy D'Aragon. When we checked in, the receptionist said that she did her best to upgrade us to a nicer room. She didn't even know that we were honeymooning. Initially our room was facing the garden. The new room would be facing the water. Cool. I wasn't expecting much. It is always when you expect the least when you are rewarded most handsomely. Remember that folks! Our room was the BEST in the entire hotel. Top floor, corner room, with a view of the Port of Bonifacio and the Citadel. Now that's how a honeymoon is done!!! The 2 sets of french doors in our room opened to a raised balcony, equipped with a petite table and 2 chairs. Pick which restaurant you'd like to dine at for dinner from above while watching the sun set with a glass of wine. Heck, we're in France.. a glass of Champagne! This hotel has all of the modern amenities you could ask for. Free wifi is available in every room. Our room had a shower so large I soaked in it as if it were a bathtub. The double-head shower and clear glass doors made me think I was in some uber-lux hotel that you only see in the movies. Breakfast can be had on the waterside patio, or in your room if you so please. Parking is provided with each room and is just walking distance from the hotel. The service here is excellent! Not only did the receptionist go above and beyond for our room upgrade but the concierge was very kind when we couldn't figure out how to enter the hotel after hours. Silly Americans. It's the other door! If I return to Bonifacio, I would only stay here.

Beautiful located hotel in the middle of nowhere. On the positive side…read more-service minded staff on the beach that serves you whatever you wish from a menu. - free canoes, sun bed and water bikes at the beach - beautiful rooms (although shower was dated) -nice and clean housekeeping - good breakfast (30eur pp) - free snacks to the cocktails (16eur) - 3 small deserts to the coffe (8eur) - toilets close to the first beach -the somilier and his wine suggestions - stunning surrounding and 2 nice beaches That being said this, it is not a place we would return to. We love food and were willing to pay for it as long as it's good. Sadly the food here is in general quite boring and expensive, during our stay we had lunch here once and dinner twice. The first evening we had "the culinary journey" it was supposed to be something extra according to the hotels description. We found the food served mediocre although the fish we had for main was well prepared and the wine served together with the dinner was good. The lunch was not worth the price, dinner the second day was probably best and we can recommend you to try the slow cooked veal and the chocolate fondant. In average the price level is quite high 4eur for a small water, 24eur for a boring pasta during lunch and Kellogg's k special for 6 eur in the mini bar. It gives you the impression your being ripped off and indeed you are... So why did we still choose to eat here, well the place is in the middle of nowhere, in order to get here you drive 6km along a narrow road and thereafter you need to drive around 10 min to bonifacio (beautiful city), it's simply to much of a hassle to leave. Further the wifi is unreliable and the hairdryer is really bad.

Next time I come back to Corsica, I will definitely stay here. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it because there is no reason to run around because you have everything you could possibly want in a vacation right there.

Rooms are very clean with a very good airconditioning and a decent minibar. Every day fresh towels. Reception is open 24/24 and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Good breakfast with enough diversity. There are enough private parking spots for all clients. In front of the hotel is a good supermarket PAM with good prices. Would take this hotel again if coming back.
A relatively new hotel ideally placed for the marina in Porto Vecchio. We had the choice between a…read moresea view room or a view over the salt lakes. We chose the sea view for a few extra euros however either would have been fine and the former also looks over the pool area. The hotel isnt cheap its was over 200 euros per night and for that you only get your room, breakfast is an extra 14 euros each but its very nice and the selection and quality is good. The rooms are nice, basic but in more of a minimal sense they are exceptionally clean and the bathrooms are good all come with a spacious balcony and patio. The pool area is great its very chilled out and with great sunbeds a great place to chill for a few hours. The only downside is that there is no room service and only a minimal bar service. With a little extra effort the hotel could be very good instead of just good. its a shame the extra touches arent there. However dont let that sway you as from what I saw its by far one of the better options in porto vecchio.

We on the other hand wanted to see Corsica and get into our car early to explore a bit instead of getting spa treatments. We even didn't eat at the restaurant although we were curious. There were too many places to try in the week we were there. The one girl at the front desk that checked us in was very nice although the wait staff at breakfast and on the deck were less than helpful. We had to flag them down to get service. Breakfast was scheduled to start at 7am and we headed over at that time to get our day started early. We found out that some of the hot food didn't even get put out until much later the 2nd night before we left. I also noticed that the guests were primarily in the retirement age so maybe the staff was more used to dealing with that age group. We went in late September when most people go back to work. The grounds are beautiful and the chairs were plentiful at the private beach probably because it was off season. They also only have hardwood floors, (at least in our room), so we were able to hear our neighbors walking around, shutting doors, and drawing their curtains. Another thing that I found odd was that the turn down service sometimes went as late as 9:30pm so we only utilized it once. We wouldn't stay here again if we were to return to Corsica due to the type of travelers we are.
