By the time I finish writing this review you're going to think that I work here - I assure you I…read moredon't (but would love to if it meant taking in that relaxing vibe every day). We just really had the best time here. We chose this 4* resort because: 1) the facilities are open to guests of the hotel only and not the public like many other spas - this meant that even though the hotel was fully booked nowhere in the spa area was too crowded. At times it felt like we were the only two there. Amazing. 2) we were looking for a place where we could stay for the whole weekend - literally never leaving the resort - for ultimate relaxation. The promise of a 5-course dinner each night included in the price got us hooked. And it was just as we had read in the reviews: breakfast was a huge, fresh hot and cold buffet, the afternoon "snack" was an actual lunch with a daily soup, salad bar and dessert section, and the 5-course dinner was just incredible with a choice of a few dishes (the 5th course consists of...wait for it, a CHEESE BUFFET. OMG. I felt like this was my paradise). The whole resort was peaceful and relaxed and apart from the indoor/outdoor pool areas, most of the areas are adults only. The sauna area is also an adult mixed-sex nudist area (don't worry - it's totally the norm here in Austria). I won't go into details on every single room but there were plenty of great spaces to relax, nap, read, snuggle up and admire the mountain views. Oh, I haven't even mentioned the views yet! Incredible! Dachstein and its glacier on one side, Loser and a beautiful mountain range on the other. My favourite rooms: the tea room with unlimited herbal teas, and the sleep room which is perfect for afternoon naps! The only criticism I had of the whole weekend is that the beds were so loud that every time I rolled over in the night I woke myself up. I had better undisturbed naps in the relaxation areas of the spa. But overall, this place really understands its clientele and what ultimate relaxation and recharging should be. Things to be aware of: - In Austria saunas are usually mixed-sex and nudist - Dinner is until 8:30pm - drinks are not included in the price (apart from breakfast and the tea room in the spa area) - Sauna and spa areas close at 8pm - check out is at 12pm but you can continue using the facilities for the rest of the day until you leave

Seehotel is a great way to stay and explore Hallstatt. I…read moreloved their warm service, they allowed us late check-in at 11 PM and kept everything ready at the counter. Breakfast was abundant and tasty with a mountain view Beds are quite basic but clean and tidy. Bathrooms are compact but easy to use. ONE CONCERN: They did not let us know about parking cost. They simply told us to park in a paid lot that costed us unexpected $20-30 for 2 days - atleast a heads-up would've helped.

The hallway area looks very traditional but the rooms are sparse and full of pine and white. It was simple but somehow also cosy. There is just one restaurant that is within walking distance. The bakery is about a 10 minute walk into town so that is also doable. The hotel has an outdoor pool (didn't use...was 50 degrees and raining). However, the room has a covered balcony with a small table and two chairs. It was just adorable. I enjoyed having a cup of hot tea this morning with a variety of teas to choose from. Interestingly there were two restrooms-one with a small sink + shower and one with a really small sink + toilet. There are 3 separate radiators so it's a great place to do makeshift laundry. Cons: A lot of morning light The online website we booked through noted the restaurant has a free breakfast. This is not being offered right now due to construction. You can opt for a breakfast in a paper bag for an additional €5. Need more parking! There were 4 spaces for 15 rooms Nowhere to actually open up a suitcase
