I don't know if it was because of the aesthetically pleasing minimalistic interior, the artsy vibes or the amazing coffee cakes they would always have, but it was such a neat place. Wish they had something like in near me in the states!
Things to note: if you're going to sit on your laptop and be doing work, you have to sit at the tables towards the back of the cafe in the studio area. You'll be asked to move back there if you don't. It's definitely meant to be more of a "come and talk with your friends/read the paper" kind of place and they don't necessarily encourage you being on your computer, but they'll happily give you the wifi password and leave you be (as long as you're buying more than one milchkaffee if you're there for a few hours)!
I think most of the baristas knew English, but obviously they appreciate if you try your best to speak with them in German -- which is what I recommend you try to do. Regardless, they were all really cool, friendly, and welcoming.
