We had a voucher from Groupon that costed 180€ and was worth 290€ including 2 nights with breakfast…read moreand dinner (half board), welcome drink and entrance to the thermal pools. For 6 months we tried to book 3 times (for different weekends) and were always informed they were fully booked. By the third time a very unfriendly employee informed me that we had to book until September and during the week. When I said that our voucher was valid until December and for any day of the week she told me that the hotel would close for renovations in September and on the weekends it would probably be full. She made me think they just didn't want us to use the voucher on the weekends. I also found it a really poor service that no one informed us neither per email nor per phone that there would be renovations and therefore the voucher had to be used before September and not December. If we hadn't called probably we would just have had a "surprise". Anyway our wedding anniversary was coming up and it was during the week so we decided to use the voucher for it. When we arrived, the receptionist was really very unfriendly, I never met an hotel receptionist like this. She made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience for her and that she was doing us a favor in even talking to us, she talked very fast, very unfriendly and completely stressed out even though there were absolutely no other guests there. She gave us a paper with the hotel rules and I asked when dinner was served. She replied that the restaurant was closed but that she would give us 10€ per person per night. When we said that's not a realistic value for dinner she said that is how much it costed with them including drinks and desert (I believe not even at Macdonald's can you get such a deal :P) and she said that's how it is, nothing to discuss there. So we had to agree, no one had informed us of this before (not even when we called to book nor a few days before when my husband called) and we had already traveled all the way there and had nowhere else to stay so we had no other option than to agree of course. I then asked where the parking lot was to which she replied it was probably full. I repeated the question to which she underlined several times the word "back of the hotel" in the paper she had given us (she was really that polite). I had to ask a third time how exactly can one find it and how to drive there until she finally explained (the entrance is next to the organic cafe/store). The parking ground has only 5 places available for the hotel and the hotel staff also use them. I then asked if we would get at least the tickets to the thermal pools and she then gave them to us. I really got the feeling that if we hadn't asked for things, they would just try and see if we would forget them. Anyway she gave us the bedroom key and we went up. I had seen photos and reviews online of swan-shaped towels on top of the bed, chocolates on top of the pillow and complementary hotel slippers. There wasn't any of it in our bedroom (even though a few days before my husband called and informed them it was for our wedding anniversary). Not even the included welcome drink was there so we had to go again to the reception and ask for it (once again I had the feeling that they were just hoping we would forget and not ask for things). The bedroom itself was basic but ok, there was no fan nor air conditioner (and it was pretty hot) but the tv was very modern with youtube connection. In the bedroom there was a dossier with some information where it stated that half board could be booked for an extra 15€ a person/night. We decided to just let go the fact that she had just lied to us when she gave us the 10€. The hotel is in the city center in a quiet street (except for the planes passing by) where cars are not allowed and a weekly market takes place. There are 4 restaurants next to the hotel: an indian next to the parking lot, an italian, a greek-turkish and a bavarian restaurant right next to the hotel that actually belongs to Post Hotel where we ate both nights (good food, polite waitress). Next day we went for breakfast and the waitress didn't even say good morning to anyone, she just went around the tables asking for the room number. The breakfast was ok and had croissants. I saw they had an expresso machine inside the bar so I asked for a latte machiatto. The waitress told me that they didn't make that but that they could bring me a cappuccino in 5 minutes. Thirty minutes later, as we were about to leave and I had already finished breakfast, they brought me the cappuccino... We only really felt welcomed by the receptionist who did our check out, she was nice and wished us a nice journey home. We were overall very disappointed with the hotel and wouldn't recommend it to anyone but what amazed me the most was the service, I had never experienced anything like this... AVOID!!
