Problems, problems, problems. I never been to a hotel where there was so much issues. The moment I walked into the room, problem number 1 already appeared before me. The room was not even cleaned yet! The sheets were in disarray. Pillows were on the floor, the whole room was a mess and it was obvious that the cleaning staff did not even get to this room yet before they handed me the key. So I had to go all the way to the reception to get a different room. When I got to the new room, I saw that this time it was ready for me. But I took a look at the top sheets and they were just distasteful. They looked like they were older than me. I went to the toilet next and saw that there were still shit stains on the under side the bowl. That was just disgusting. Cleaniness is definitely not scrutinized here. I took a shower next and when I came out, there was water all over the floor. The shower was not waterproof, which is just ridiculous. During my sleep, I felt that there was a hole on my bed and it felt uncomfortable as I kept slipping into a gaping crack in the middle of the bed. And I realized that this queen bed was actually just 2 twin beds pushed together. At this point, I wasn't even surprised anymore.
The next night, when I came back after a long day, my key card was not working and I had to go all the way down to reception to get my key card fixed. How inconvenient. And it turns out that I had to "activate" my keycard at reception every single day as it does not work after each night. This is the first time I ever seen this. They really could not just give me a key that works the whole week without it resetting every single day.
On my third night there, when I had to reactivate the key again at the reception, they told me that my room had a connecting room and that a family wanted to book the room I was in and the connecting room. So they decided to move me to a different room. I had to pack all my stuff at 10pm after a long day and move. Super inconvenient. I never had that happen to me before.
When I got into the new room, more problems arose. I noticed a real bad sewer smell in the shower and there were holes in some of the towels there. I was so tired at that point I didn't even bother to ask for another room change. I just avoided the shower area as much as I could.
All in all, this was quite possibly the worst and most annoying hotel experience I ever had. I had a better time at the small hostel I stayed in at Istanbul and for half the price too. Stay away if I were you. read more
