The breakfast, though area is a bit small, was very good. Rooms are very clean but small for us American, but it doesn't matter as you should be in your room only to sleep. My only recommendation would be a snack/drink vending machine as nothing is open after 10pm, specially on Sunday's. This place excels on location. Cannot be beat at this price point. I would stay again.

One day I needed ice and the front desk ran across the street to get me some. I really appreciated it. The rooms are small but really clean. The price was great and we were only 3 miles away by taxi to the Eiffel Tower. There is also a train station near by. Under the hotel is a nice bakery that has really good Croissants and other deserts. Lots of shopping and cafes in the area. Cute little park across from the hotel that the kids like to play at. Lots of families in the neighborhood. I would defiantly stay here again. We had a really pleasant stay.

Breakfast, which was included in the very reasonable price of the room, was large and very good, but the breakfast room is tiny and cannot possibly fit all of the guests in at once. We had to rise early and consequently got a table, but guests getting up at a more reasonable time had to wait for a table, and we ended up inviting another couple to our already small and crowded table out of sheer pity. We were also irritated by the fact that we had booked a double room but were given a twin room, although I suspect that this was more the fault of the website I used to book our room than that of the hotel itself. Still, it was comfortable and good value, the doors were open 24 hours and the staff were very friendly - we were very grateful to them for keeping our bags for us after we checked out so that we could have the day without lugging them about. A great place for travellers to Paris on a budget, not so much for those who are not.

The staff is friendly and can probably speak English better than us;) (And we're American.) When it was time to return to Paris we thought about trying a different hotel in a different neighborhood, but for we decided it was simpler to use this as home-base because it was familiar. That way we could go and explore different things from a familiar spot. Some rooms are a bit "wee" for those travelers used to large beds and spacious floors plans, but this is Paris after all and the buildings are hundreds of years old... This time we got lucky with the larger "penthouse" room! It kind of feels like Marie Antoinette decorated it;)

As we were leaving more talkative people arrived and we were grateful for our timing. The service was impeccable at least for French standards. A gentleman kept his eye on us and we never really had to look for him except to get the check. I forget that it's different in Europe. In America they give you the check while you're still eating. If the food was a little better I would give 5 stars. The sandwiches were okay...somewhat uninspired. The scones were good. I was anticipating the 3-tiered tray with a medley of sweets but instead he brought out a tray with 3-4 desserts of which we could only have one. They were regular-sized portions, not minis. We chose different ones -- mine was a fig tart and my partner chose something foofier with creams and such. We sort of shared. I liked her mascarpone topping on my fig tart. Yum!

My husband gave me a list of 150 hotels in Paris last September. I went through the list of them and came across Hotel Daniel. I knew right away it was were we needed to stay for our first time in Paris. We could not have asked for anything better. From Antoinette in the sales department, to Clelia and the entire staff, it was the most incredible experience we have ever had. Contrary to some of the reviews, the room we had was not small, in fact, it was bigger than most of the rooms we stay in here in the USA. The service was exceptional on all levels. Until this morning, I have never cried when leaving a hotel, I was even given a hug goodbye this morning. If you get a chance to experience what we did, enjoy it immensely.
