Hallo, This…read morerestaurant was really good! Every meal was delicious, great customer service, treat you like family, the best I have received in Germany. Super sick Applekuchen mit Eis dessert, I just wish it was bigger =P. If you have not, GREAT place to try. Thank you to our server who rocked, she was kind, and simply awesome. I'll be back! In Schwarzenegger style!

We just stayed here for 5 nights and checked out this morning. We had a rereservation on Christmas…read moreDay. The food was the best we had in town, no question about it. I had a roast pork with coleslaw and potato dumplings. The most tender pork I've ever tasted, seriously. The sauce was so good that I used it for potato dumplings as well. Coleslaw is not mayonnaise based like often seen in US ,but this one is flavorful with adequate amount of vinegar in it, and not sour at all. If you come to this wonderful town, please dine in here. You will not be disappointed. BTW, the hotel is as good as the restaurant. Really right in the heart of everything, yet quiet at night. The staff is super friendly and professional.

Poor service attitude at restaurant, hotel has very very thin walls and floors. Rude staffread more

Rothenburg, you rock! And so does Zum Schwan!…read more When touring Rothenburg you'll clearly grab some lunch. Do yourself a solid and stop in here, you'll love it. The grub is good, but the service is spectacular! So friendly, so inviting, so accommodating! A decent beer selection, which goes without saying (writing), and at fair prices. By the way, they do accept cards here, which is a plus as so many European eateries don't. Cheers!

The only disappointing meal on our entire vacation through Germany, Austria and Prague. They seemed…read moreto use a lot of prepared or canned foods. I tried to order a dish of "wild mushrooms" served in a bread bowl, which sounded great but the waiter advised me against it. Ended up ordering the mushroom-cream schnitzel, and it was underwhelming. The meat was a little tough and dry, and the sauce was terrible, made with canned mushrooms. It was served with potato croquettes, which seemed to be a frozen, pre-made item. All of the other entrees our table ordered were similarly unimpressive. The best part of the meal was the Gold Ochsen beers, which are good but not particularly great. After our meal, the server was quick to point out that we could leave a tip for his service. I guess rules of etiquette can be confusing for tourists from other countries, but to me that is always inappropriate. We ended up going across the street to the Erich Trumpp metzgerei and picked up some items for a picnic lunch in the Rothenburg gardens.
