The service was very friendly, the morning buffet breakfast was vast by most standards, the waterfront location was incredibly scenic and set up perfectly for a lakeside resort. Definitely see if you can get a room that overlooks the lake. The downtown area is right across the road and where you have access to restaurants, shopping and historical sites. This hotel also had many bikes for rent which is a perfect way to tour this town and scenic lakeside roads. The only thing to note is that our beds had very firm mattresses, however they were comfortable even though I have a softer mattress at home. I highly recommend staying here. My wife and I got back from a day trip and decided to eat at the hotel, after asking for a table for two we were given a hard look by the hostess then told there were no tables (about half the tables were empty). Better pack your tux. Lastly the rooms are tad on the small side but I am hesitant to list this as a "con" since this is a historic hotel. Pros: great location, very cool environment, very helpfully staff! Over all it was a nice stay despite the few cons. If you are traveling by rail it is an easy walk to the hotel.
