My family loved this hotel! From the outside, it is kinda plain, but the rooms are beautiful and super clean. The bed was very comfortable and the owner is kind and very helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! read more

We stayed for several nights here and enjoyed tremendously the spacious rooms, lovely bathrooms, and most of all their amazing restaurant. The food was superlative - I could not have asked for a more crowd-pleasing menu. They do local specialties, ranging from asparagus & fresh chanterelles to pork shoulder to Leberknödelsuppe (liver & marrow soup with dumplings), and they do them very, very well. Their "huge, colorful salads" are as billed, so come hungry. If you order an appetizer and an entree, you could easily feed two people. Do yourself a favor and order a bocksbeutel of local white wine. They do it right here, and their wine menu (with both local and international selections) is great. I ate here maybe five times with a group of 9 people and we never tired of their food, excellent service, and delightful ambiance. Well done! If I'm ever in this part of the world again, I'll definitely be back. Also, the staff speaks English very well!

If I'm ever in the area again I wouldn't even try another hotel as I cant imagine a better experience anywhere else. The town was adorable, like being in a Hansel and Gretel novel. Enjoy a seafood centric restaurant by the river a tall glass of beer. walk around the town and it's beautiful quaint historic feel. Americans, pay close attention to local eating customs and times (even at the intl airport in Frankfurt) and do not expect anything to be open on Sunday so do your shopping on another day. It's difficult to find a place that takes Amex so bring euros or a Visa.

I understand that there will always be variations in furniture in the room, but this was a bit beyond what one would expect. They need to learn the difference between "antique" furniture and just plain old furniture. (I will admit that we did stay in the cheapest room but at 156 euro a night I expected more) However, the location was beautiful. High on the hill-a bit difficult to get to-but wonderful. You can have a complimentary breakfast on the terrace overlooking the city and the mountains. The pool has a similar location and there is a small outdoor seating area where you can sun yourself and enjoy the view! There is also a sauna, but we were unable to keep it working :/ Another plus was the staff. All of the staff were very helpful and willing to work with us and help us enjoy our time there. When we asked for directions they were clear and helpful and had maps at the desk. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but the food was good, especially the deserts. Just be aware that the portions are small, but tasty.

The heater wasn't running and wouldn't turn on. We didn't pay the extra euros for breakfast, but it didn't look very good for the price. Mr. Hofmann even remained late one evening to providing an educational wine tasting experience. Conference room: wifi, dry erase boards, large display screen and well lit room positively made our conference productive. The snacks, coffee and drinks were timely and good.
