We stayed for 6 nights in May of 2018 and feel that the hotel lived up fully to our high expectations of a relatively small German 3-star hotel - which is to say, clean, reasonably priced, and efficiently run by a professional staff. The location is centrally enough located in Saxony that it's easy to make day trips to Dresden and to a wide range of other interesting destinations. The location right on the Elbe, with direct view of the Albrechtsburg in Meissen, is perhaps the most romantic I've experienced on my several trips to Germany. The restaurant has a varied menu and both indoor and outdoor seating options. On the whole we were quite pleased with our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if we are ever in the area. The *sole* reason for my not giving the hotel a 5-star rating is because the WiFi (W-LAN) service, though free, is in no way adequate for anything approaching current needs. Advice to management -- upgrade the W-LAN, and your place will be practically perfect in my book. read more
