The other reviews here are dated for sure. This hotel deserves s 5 star for the price rating. We booked last minute for way less than the surrounding options and were pleasantly surprised.
This is a newly remodeled and quite nice hotel. It's warm and friendly, yet spacious modern and clean. Very must catering to the tyrolian taste, it has lots of red and white, gray and natural elements in the design and feels like a modern ski resort. Paintings throughout are endearing and thematic. It has less expensive but attractive furnishings which are all new and in great shape.
The staff is friendly, English speaking, and the breakfast is very good. (A mix of hot and cold options, similar to the hotels I usually experience in Germany/Switzerland.)
No restaurant in the hotel, but a few options in walking distance that won't disappoint.
Some more details:Toiletries are the bulk wall mounted, Eco-friendly kind. But I always bring my own anyway. The hairdryer was great. (I'm very picky about those) The bathroom was impressive. Great choice of modern fixtures, a clever shower and of course the heater doubles as a towel rack which is fab after coming back in of a day in the alps.
The TV had lots of channels, we were amused at an episode of "the office" dubbed in German. The living area was the size of a typical small hotel room itself. There is a coffee table and full sized couch.
Reference my pictures for a better feel, but know that on this snowy day in on our first visit to Austria, Hotel Kasteller, it's staff and atmosphere, made great first impression on us. read more
