We spent the night because of a good friend of ours performed his variety act there. The rooms are nicely appointed and the breakfast buffet is spectacular. They will even make you an omelette or a scramble with the ingredients of your choice. My only complaint would be that the gorgeous bathroom did not have a separate shower. There was only a very modern design hand-held shower in the bathtub with no place to rest it while the water was on. Jack and I had to help each other wash and it would have been quite difficult to perform that task solo without flooding the bathroom. Nevertheless we would love to stay there again.

The common areas, like the lobby and the restaurants, are not funky at all; they are just new and clean. The guest rooms can be quite funky as I explain later. Service All the staff members are professional and attentive, particularly the people at the front desk. They have a restaurant on site. They also serve really good breakfast, many items to choose from. It is only 15 Euro. Location It's in a quiet neighborhood. It's only five minute walk from the Schlossplaz, and additional five minutes to the Markt. If you're visiting the University (Universität des Saarlandes), you may want to consider staying closer to the station instead. Guest Room I could have had a problem with the shower. It's made of glass and next to the bed. I was fine because I was alone. If you're assigned to that room and share it someone you do not know very well, it could be very awkward. You can see someone taking a shower from the bed. I really thought highly of this after seeing the ratings. However, this hotel is not safe. My…read morelaptop was stolen within 10 minutes of checking in from a locked room and they asked their employees in a very casual tone. Its a b&b for business travelers and they cannot even ensure safety of a laptop. I had a very important job interview the next day but the reception was not cooperative and understanding the depth of the situation. The keys to the so called smart locks is with everyone in the staff. I believe everyone from the staff knows the 6 digit pin code of the room lock.
