I was bummed at the thought of being at a "Best Western" while in Corsica, France. However, this was a charming hotel. While it's not "in" town, it is located across the bay and is only a 45 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride into town. The rooms are small but very functional and ECO friendly. Beds, pillows and linens were super comfortable. Charging stations for phones by your bed and bathroom serves your needs surprisingly well for being so small. Pool and Jacuzzi in front of the hotel, overlooking the water and silhouette of the city. Note: Pool closes early, 8:30 pm. Quaint bar area to the left of check in and a really tasty, international breakfast bar in the morning. I liked that I could sit on the patio overlooking the pool, bay and city while eating breakfast and drinking a yummy cappuccino. Check in staff were rude. I understand the "ugly American" stereotype and try to always be a polite and cultural American tourist. The guy at the front desk immediately spoke English to me. So, I spoke English back. When he was rude and dismissive towards me, I spoke in French and he was more polite.

On retrouve José le patron aux fourneaux qui agrémente de belles pizzas ou concoctent des plats simples et gourmands comme l'escalope valdostana, l'agneau au four ou les raviolis farcis. La carte propose un large choix entre salades, pâtes et viandes. L'ambiance de l'auberge est chaleureuse et rustique grâce à une salle voûtée, des poutres apparentes et du mobilier en bois. Régulièrement, le restaurant s'anime avec des concerts jazz, du chant et des guitares corses ou encore avec du karaoké. Côté hôtel, 4 chambres double insonorisées, climatisées avec salle de bain sont disponibles.

We had a brief 1-night stay in this historic property with 27 rooms, some, like ours with gorgeous…read moresea views and patios. Located right on the water, it is possible to walk to the nondescript old town of Ajaccio in about 30 minutes by simply following the broad path along the sea. We were in room 27, which had a large patio, awesome undated bathroom, large living room plus another room with a king bed. So much space and all of it with killer views. A couple of bottles of water were provided along with high end bath amenities. Things to note: there is no elevator and many rooms are on the 2nd or third floor. Also there is an onsite gastronomy restaurant (I.e. artful food, foam and crazy high prices). While they claim a private beach, depending on the wind, waves and tides it might be only a few feet wide. Some of the staff spoke English but not everyone. Our stay was comfortable and I enjoyed an hour in the sun on our great patio and the amazing views although this stay was our most expensive by far given my splurge for one of the top rooms. In late September it was over 700€. Recommended
