We were here for 2 nights after our cruise last June. Hotel is very outdated but clean. The location is perfect. Close to Trevi Fountain. Their restaurant was amazing. We had dinner once and their food are so delicous! Staff are nice as well. If you are looking for a reasonable price hotel that is close to the landmarks , I recommend this place. read more

Overall, it's very conveniently located and it was a good value. I liked having a kettle and tea in the room too. However, we inexplicably had to wait 40 minutes to check in and then got stuck in a room with a loud circuit breaker that switched on and off and kept us from sleeping. The Hotel Hiberia sits in the perfect place for any tourist that wants to see the sights of Rome. Ten minutes walk to The Trevi fountain and a little further to the Spanish Steps. The Colosseum about fifteen minutes away. The Vatican, a little further and we did walk it but there is a bus service just around the corner. Perfect. As for the hotel well our first impression was what a friendly place. The receptionist signed us in and explained everything we needed to know on the usual tourist map (they are never very good). Our room wasn't quite ready so we went to the small, but cosy, bar for a short while. The room we had chosen, at a slight extra charge, had a city view. What a view we had. It is the one that is used on the hotels website. Nice large clean room with all the amenities. Great bathroom. In fact only complaint, no not a complaint and query, the lid on the kettle did not close down. I am sure, had we mentioned it, it would have been remedied. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast plus. Plenty for everyone with, again, great staff. No complaints again. Must mention the quirky, old world, lift. I loved it. If we were to back to Rome then I definitely would stay again. People mention that there are no nearby restaurants. When did a short ten minutes walk do any damage other than build up an appetite. Trust me, there are wonderful restaurants on the way to the Trevi fountain. We tried a few anjd put on quite a bit of weight. Location, location, location...and excellent air conditioning (powerful A/C is not a standard in much of Europe to the degree that it is in the US). These are the most important reasons to choose Hotel Hiberia when visiting Rome. This hotel could not have been located in a better spot. We had an easy walk to pretty much all sites and attractions. The staff members of the hotel were very nice and helpful. The included-breakfast was a great way to start the day. The negatives did not outweigh the benefit of the location, but they should be noted: Some parts of the hotel are not aging gracefully. For example, our bathroom had numerous issues. The toilet seat fell off and we had to endure a dangerous balancing act whenever nature called for the duration of our stay (4 nights). The shower didn't drain and the issues were not corrected even after we reported it to the front desk. The beds were pretty hard and the pillows were pretty un-stuffed. The electricity went off for 1/2 a day. No wi-fi available in the guest rooms, only in the lobby. I will probably stay somewhere different next time I visit Rome, but I'll probably miss the Hiberia's location like crazy. read more

Stayed at the Hotel Hibernia during our stay in Rome. The hotel, while extremely outdated was in the heart of the city. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfast daily was included but not every good. read more

excellent location! with 5 to 15 minutes walk to any tourist area. hotel staffs were very very helpful when asked for good dinning places, advised us what to watch out (pickpockets), and arranged transportation to/from the airport. even the buffet breakfast was absolute one of the best that we have had in italy. the only draw back is the bathroom area. it needs some upgrade as the water didn't drain well. we definitely will stay at Hiberia when we are back to Rome. read more
