The room we had was extremely spacious and it was very relaxing to have the cries of seagulls lull me to sleep. The beds were also very comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and one of the best spreads that I have experienced while traveling. The dining room also gives a lovely view of the port. There is a great fitness area for hotel patrons as well, which includes weights, treadmills, elliptical, etc. The location is great, as it is walking distance to a lot of attractions, shops, and restaurants. You will need a taxi to get to the Renfe station, however. The only downside is the connection speed of the wireless Internet. It was extremely slow and made it impossible to accomplish any work. A cute plus: there are chuches (gummy candy) and champagne in the lobby!

We were here for our Honeymoon in 2010 and this time, we walked here at the end of the Camino Ingles. One big change since our last visit was that our Superior room was upgraded to a Junior Suite, and with a view of the Cathedral Plaza! As this is one of the best Paradors in the system, everything her remained first class. Our breakfasts were fantastic, the historical walk arounds within the Parador were informative, the architecture was fascinating, the common areas were comfortable and relaxing, and the outdoor patio restaurant was a fun place to hang out. I had one little incident when a waiter accidently spilled sangria on me. I took it all with good humor, especially since the waiter was highly apologetic. Parador staff also offered to have the affected clothes washed, which were back in our room (with another apology and a few treats) within a couple hours. Being treated like royalty (especially when we're not) made our day. Gayle and I are already talking about another Camino, maybe the Portuguese Coastal Way. If we do, we have no doubt where we'll be staying again at the end of our Pilgrimage.

Clean and modern, we had a wonderful view of the Miño River, the longest river in Galicia, Spain, from our room. The room itself had two double beds with a nice hardwood floor and flat screen TV. I would recommend this place for the friendly staff and great breakfast buffet that was included with our stay. It's located right in the heart of this small town that's surrounded by so much history and culture.

I believe the hotel is located in a retrofitted old building that was turned into a hotel. Why? Well I was on the 6th floor and as soon as I entered my room I had to climb a metal spiral staircase that went into my room? How did I get my heavy suitcase up that winding staircase? Very slowly!?! But, hey, I understand in Europe they are not as quick as we are to demolish beautiful old buildings. Which I believe is great because at the same time you are helping to preserve a piece of history. The staff was very hospitable and informative. I took the staff up on some of their restaurant recommendations and I was just blown away at how great of a food location that Coruna is. Most notably, steak from the blonde Gallego bulls which is even better than wagu beef from Japan. Yes, its true, better than wagu beef! Moreover, the seafood here is simply outstanding and better yet the prices were on the cheap side for what I received!! Fantastic eating out value! Room service was excellent. The food delivered to my room was actually very good. Also, my booking included free breakfast which I also loved. Moreover, Coruna served as a jump off point to visit Santiago De Compostela which was only a 40 minute train ride away. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to walk like all of the other thousands of pilgrims visiting. Back to my hotel stay, I highly recommend this place if you find yourself on your way this corner of Espana.

The WiFi and hot water are chronically unreliable. The walls are thin and heavy wood doors plus faux wood floors means that any loud footstep will wake you up. We eventually resorted to earplugs although I am a very sound sleeper generally. The Laundry and Parking are pricey and they are not helpful in finding you any alternatives to their prices. Luckily I found a nearby dry cleaners that saved me about $60 USD over the hotel. Lastly, the bathroom had very shoddy work, broken tiles, and a broken shower head meant to adjust, but it kept sliding down. There are better alternatives for the money.
