We paid around 90 euros for a double bed -- which is very doable for Basel, Switzerland. Switserland is always expensive, except for their chocolates. And free wifi for up to 4 connections!
(Sidenote & tip: You should buy some Toblerone or Lindt while in the country.)
The concept of ibis embraces a minimalist look and surroundings, with small spaces and efficiency as the highest priority. A big bed, a clean shower, sink, toilet and tv. The room can always accommodate more people as a separate bunkbed has been built above the head of the large double. We used to put both our young boys in the one bunkbed above. It has a good railing around it.
Breakfast looked good with cappuccino, tea, hard rolls, cereals and yoghurt. If you arrive later in the evening, know that they have ready made meals which you can heat in a microwave. Snacks and sodas can be purchased as well.
Parking was available against a payment out front.
What I personally love, is the separate toilet so that you don't overwhelm one another with your odor. I wish all hotels had that and, come to think of it, my own home (but we cannot actualize that).
