The name alone can arouse curiosity. Camp Reinsehlen. How does such a typical German place name…read morecome to be called Camp.
Well, it has to do with the fact that the Rhine Army of the Royal Army maintained a camp here and misused the heath, much to the displeasure of the local farmers, as training ground for tanks.
Today this is all history. The barracks of the soldiers have been torn down, the tank wash still stands. Also the officers' mess, which now serves as a restaurant. The rest is a newly built hotel complex. The concept is quite close to nature - rooms where you can look from your bed, through floor-high glass doors, far into the heath. Almost as if you were sleeping outside under the canopy of the sky. You can also see stars - the light pollution of the cities is far away!
Close to nature - you can effectively go hiking, running, mountain biking and next door there is a climbing garden. Above all, here you have peace and quiet.
The employees are also quiet - everything is somehow relaxed. There is no hectic rush, but there is no dawdling either.
The equipment of my so-called "Mehrblick" room was adequate. Modern, good layout, clean. The complex, which has no gates or bridles, stretches through the main buildings, which are lined up like pearls. Check in, lobby and bar form one end, the restaurant called "Gasthaus" practically the other.
For events there are additional rooms or halls equipped with all common equipment.
All in all, a well-rounded package is offered here. If you are looking for relaxation from everyday life, you are in good hands here.
