Wow, the views here just can't be beat…read more Located in Neustift, a small ski-town just thirty minutes away from Innsbruck (the capital), Alpenhotel Tirolerhof is an absolute gem. Filled with rustic charm, but still providing all the modern conveniences -- it has it all. And you can't beat the views; they are absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to burst into song each morning (THE HILLS ARE ALIIIIIIIIIVE, WITH THE SOUND OF MUUUUUUSIC!!!). Seriously, everything was beyond picturesque. We stayed here in the summer and it was great, but I can only imagine how awesome ski season must be. They offer ski lessons and ski rentals. The owner is also a certified ski instructor, snowboarding instructor, and cross-country instructor. On arrival, you walk through a patio seating area and enter into the lobby. Along with the bar, there's plenty of seating space and tables for gatherings. Since the World Cup was happening at this time, they also had a giant screen set up (Go USA!). The lobby was also the only place the internet worked -- so you can imagine the crazy crowds camped there. It was a great place to meet new travelers. The dining room was quite nice. In the morning, there's a breakfast buffet with a ton of options. A whole table of fresh-baked loaves and buns -- toaster available. Fresh eggs ready to be self-boiled, fruit, cereal, bacon, french toast and pancakes, and more. They had a great spread. The dinner menu wasn't too shabby either and they had a salad bar out. However, it was the bedroom that captured my heart. More specifically, the views from the bedroom balcony. Everywhere you looked, you got a view; you don't even notice your neighbor's balconies. Rooms were a good size, though some of the couches and chairs were slightly uncomfortable and dated -- you could feel the springs when you sat down. But, the views were worth all of it. In terms of local entertainment, Innsbruck seems very quiet, but there may be plenty of community events -- just check at the desk! When we stayed, the local Bavarian orchestra had a free show in the town amphitheater. Overall, one of my favorite hotels during my trip. I highly recommend, especially if you're looking for some R & R.
