Location is excellent, with shopping and restaurants close by. Go across the street to El Cortes Ingles -- there are restaurants on the top floor, and a supermarket in the basement. You can get anywhere in the city center by walking around 10-20 minutes.
Reception was friendly, and checkin was simple as they had already assigned us rooms for our arrival. We received a twin bed as requested, and the room was large for Europe. The shower had decent water pressure, but the temperature slightly fluctuated (with sink faucet / toilet running).
Sound isolation from the exterior of the hotel is excellent, with two sets of windows, and a metal grate in between. However, the room is stuffy if the windows are closed. When we tried turning on the thermostat, only hot air came out (in Feb) ... so we ended up opening the windows at night and dealing with the noise.
Sound isolation from the interior of the hotel is very poor. Walls are extremely thin and I could hear a loud family next door when they returned from dinner and had their faucets running.
So my recommendation -- stay here if you can tolerate the noise ... or ask for a really quiet room (best if you have no neighbors next door). read more
