A small hotel that feels just a bit like a really, very nice, private room hostel.
With private rooms, of course.
On my most recent trip to Munich it was a heat wave. Of course, the hotel didn't have air conditioning (normal) -- but it tainted my experience a bit, as I was constantly annoyed, hot and annoyed. Not at the hotel though, they were fine!
The rooms were nice, very small and compact. For about 100 euros/night, it was a good deal in the summer. Located very conveniently to the Sbahn and in a nice little area with shops and coffee places.
The breakfast (included in some rates) was pretty nice with a lot of great cold options (meats/cheeses/breads) and coffee, tea...even kombucha! There's a nice "eat-in" area as well.
The decor is pretty funky, but feels a bit cheap or overdone. It's all very clean though, the most important factor!
Tip: there are two Hotel Cocoons within close proximity to each other, so confirm where you are headed so you can get to the right spot. I made the mistake of going to the wrong one! read more
