Our second time in Celle, our first time with the Blumlage. The parking is free in the lot around back. The room is better than the average German hotel (our third time in Germany and 5th or 6th hotel here). It's clean, fairly quiet and extremely well managed. The breakfast is decent, no complaints. The mini-bar prices are actually not horrible...maybe 20% higher then then convenience store (though I didn't partake). The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Old Celle and I'd suggest that if you plan to stay and travel to the town to ask about renting the bicycles as it's expensive and a pain to park in town but on a bike you can be there in 5 minutes. Kathrin Meyer at the front desk was FANTASTIC both via email helping with questions and in person (she's a real gem). One odd thing: there's a van marked "hotel shuttle" but it isn't available to run you to the train station...but cab fare for 2 of us with a bag apiece was only $9.80 Euros. It's worth it as the hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the BahnHoff. There's 2 pizza places and an Ice Cream shop across the street (less than a minute walk). The wifi was reliable. The TV has about 30 channels and 29 of them are in German so bring a laptop (The only English channel is a loop of BBC News). I'd stay there again if I end up back in Celle, no question. read more
