The beds are a little different than your typical American hotels and you shouldn't expect AC, so you may want to consider this when selecting a hotel at the height of summer. The breakfast here blows away typical American fare you would get at chain hotels and the beer is cheap, high quality and in good supply! Most of the hotels in this area are somewhat centrally located, and I recommend this one be toward the top of your wishlist

I'm sure all of Europe is chuckling at my American reaction to this but since I'm from N America, this is a deal breaker. That being said, I would absolutely stay here any season save summer.

Breakfast has food eggs, sausage and breads along with the other typical accoutrements like lox, cheese and deli. Not as big as Hotel Michel, but enough. Opens at 7am. Outdoor patio has a nice view and sounds of the river. Good, convenient location and perfect for walking to the nearby office. Google maps doesn't route you to the walking path along the shops. Don't think there is AC, but at least there are big windows in the room that open up. The cars passing by are surprisingly loud when you do.

I really hope that by my review... I will help at least one person avoid this miserable place. Avoid this place at all cost. If you have to pack a tent and sleep on the streets... You will be better off. Trust me. I am not exaggerating. So I am here for the next 3 nights and I am not sure if I am going to survive this medieval torture. 1. It's probably close to 100 degrees in my room. I'm not sure why because it's so nice and cool outside. Look at my pictures. That white metal thing is a broken heater from the 19th century. It makes lots of Noise and heats the room to make it feel like hell in here. I call downstairs and they tell me they will send someone up. This was yesterday. Noone has come up yet. I call 3 more times. No result. I go back down and they tell me someone will come up and fix it. I don't believe them the 2nd time and ask for a room change. They tell me they are completely booked. How can that be? Why the f would anyone stay here? I decide to open my windows because I start to suffocate from heat exhaustion. As you can see from my picture number 2....the reason why I did not want to open my window in the 1st place. Fat ass trashcan right outside my window with flying bugs everywhere. With every wind blow... A nasty scent of trash stench enters my room. So my options are.... To melt to death... Or have the windows open and smell trash all day. 2. Bed. Or shall I refer to it as my cardboard box. Feels like a newspaper. It makes me yearn for the airplane seat u had on the way here. 3. Towels suck 4. Amenities... None 5. Service... Shit. I can go on and on... But I have to get ready to go to work now. I really hope that I have saved you from the worst hotel experience known to man. Find a bus station.... Or sleep on the train if you must. This place will leave you feeling dirty and cranky. I thoroughly hate you Michel Hotel at Wetzlar. I hope you go out of business soon.
