There is a…read morebig lit sign that says "Albergo Tiepolo," but note that the door to enter is in the alleyway at the end. There is always someone at the reception area, which is modern and clean. Some rooms do have a view of the canal, but I unfortunately was unable to secure one. Rather, mine looked over the entryway. The room itself is very basic, but modern and clean. You get an open air closet, a side table, a desk and a mini fridge with waters and soda (but not free). The bathroom is connecting, modern and very clean as well. Oddly, I think the door to my shower was removed, and thusly the water from the showerhead would shoot out into the bathroom area. Daily cleaning service was lovely as well. Please note that even during November, the room rates were high (roughly $78 US a night), but the location again is very, very good. Unfortunately, breakfast is not included at this high rate (which most likely only goes up during the summer months). It is an extra 7 euros and you have to tell them ahead of time if you'd like to have it, which I didn't know on my first night there. Overall, great location & clean accommodations made me satisfied, but my wallet was a bit unhappy.

They really go out of their way to say hello. The bed linens are gorgeous and Italian and so fresh and so clean. The towels are really nice and embossed with their logo. I prefer the fluffy kind, but they are still really nice. But there are a bunch of odd buttons that could have been updated years ago. For instance there are no USB charging plugs and there are no adapters in the room. Also there is no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or tissue in the room. Is that a prerequisite for a star or something? There's a speaker on the wall that started static-ing while I was trying to sleep. It took me forever to figure out that the light above the TV only went off when you pushed the desk in. And there is this crazy ass tulip looking thing in the bathroom that in the 80s might have been a cool focus lamp for tweezing my whiskers, but now is just in my way. Also the shower is hella dangerous. It's no surprise that it has a bunch of holes to take a Jacuzzi bath, which is the grossest thing in the world to do in a hotel but, I digress.... I didn't love the breakfast, maybe because some people have no idea how to politely use a Buffet. You don't pick up the food with your hands or scrape food off of a serving spoon with your thumb. But that's the tourists' fault for being tacky, not the hotel. I love the location. It's away from the hubbub, but close enough to get to everything you want to see.
