I was very impressed with Chef Marco. He offered complimentary paté and bread while we waited for our meal. My husband had ordered the large steak but it was already gone. They apologized and offered a small steak with free coffee for our troubles, which is very surprising since most restaurants aren't as generous. We highly recommend this place. Sehr Freundlisch.

The Hirschen lies in the shadow of the town's Burg Museum which has some nice pieces from the last 200 years. I have to say, though, that my favorite aspect was the food. Delicious just doesn't cover it. The breakfast buffet (6 Euro while I was there) is a tantalizing selection of cheese, meat, cereals (natural whole grain products), yogurts, fruits and juices. The Lunch and Dinner menus were equally enjoyable. (My favorite dessert was the Zwetschgenbavesen, a hot plum and ice cream delight.) They also have a nice microbrewery from which you can select both local and national beers. The Hirschen is Family run and it shows in every aspect from the front desk service to the individualized care of the wait staff. If you're driving through Bavaria and would like the traditional feel for an inexpensive price, try out the Hirschen. I'm betting you'll love it.

There is no front desk or cafe at David Hotel but you can go to the Goliath hotel for breakfast in the morning and food is price fair though only 3 options for food besides the buffet they have open. The rooms at David Hotel are wood floors with a solid wood door. Beds were very comfortable compared to the Goliath beds that I stayed in a couple years back WiFi was ok but kept knocking me off from time to time. Lastly, the radiator was located in the bathroom areas so only the restroom got warm. The rest of the room was cold at night in January. Rooms were priced fair for a5 night stay at €455.
