I arrived in Celle from Copenhagen (in EU from LA) at 10:45 PM on a Wednesday. I wanted a beer. I walked around the area, no bars would serve me, said they were closed. I went back to the hotel, and found they had an honor-system cooler with beers. Brilliant! The room was very nice. The breakfast was super, and the hostess Anja was delightful. I give this place five stars. read more

What a jewel. Smack dab in Old Town. The new owner Anya did everything to make our stay perfect. Clean, courteous service and above all priced right. If you're looking for Marriott furnishings, stay clear. The rooms are a wee bit old fashioned but super clean, great mattresses and large sized. Bathrooms have been modernized except for the lino floors. Clean, clean clean. The charming courtyard was a lovely retreat to have coffee and large enough for my sister to smoke and not bother anyone. read more
