I just stopped by for a quick meal on the way to studying and chose item number 50 (it was a curry with tofu and rice). Staff were quick to get my food; we were in and out in no time. The interior was also very nice.
As I took my first bite into the vegetables, I noticed they tasted like meat. I wasn't too worried, as I know some seasoning makes food taste like meat, but in fact, has no meat products inside. I kept eating, but as I got near the bottom of the box, I noticed a white, soft-looking thing. I inspected it and determined it was chicken.
This is a good time to add that I am vegan, but know how meat tastes as I switched about a year ago. My boyfriend, who is not vegan, tasted it and confirmed it was indeed chicken. He proceeded to eat my food and found more small pieces at the bottom (no larger than the size of a coin). They easily passed as cauliflower bits.
Just warning everyone to always ask and confirm - even if the name beside the meal says "vegetarian" - that their food is meat-free at this restaurant. I didn't, which is my mistake, as the meal said vegetarian + I switched the sauce to sweet and sour. However, these kinds of mistakes are not to be made in the restaurant industry. It is very upsetting to me and has never happened before. read more
