Anyway, I loved this place! The interior was spotless and the staff were so friendly and excited to meet foreigners. I found out that many hostels in Poznan allow temporary residence for locals, and that night I was the only non-Polish guest. Not only that, I was their first American traveler ever - talk about far out! Everyone had so many questions about "the mysteries of American culture." LOL I felt like I was staying with a family on a cultural exchange back in the 1950s, and those type of experiences are better than any party hostel. All of the dorms had views from the 2nd floor overlooking a tram junction, which was surprisingly quiet and yet so beautiful in this old timey, downtown Manhattan sort of way. It was like living in an old photograph. I couldn't have asked for a more authentically Polish experience at this hostel. It was worth every penny.

-= ENGLISH =- (deutsch unten)…read more I loved it, the atmosphere is great and everything is colorful. I felt very good when i was there. There are movie and festival posters all the way up and inside the hostel, the most polish and interesting to look at. The rooms were clean, they are "spice themed" and come in different colors matching the spice (somehow). There are lockers, which are big, but not big enough if you have a huge traveller's backpack. The bathrooms were okay but could've been cleaner. There are two bathrooms with shower for both men and women. (maybe one of the men's room has no shower) I just love the salon, the clerk is sitting there at their computer, there's a couch and a tv (and i think a computer), and the dining table with many chairs. All you need for breakfast is there: Bread, coffee, several sorts of tea, a toaster, jam and spreads, milk and so on. Of course they have a small kitchen with a fridge (watch your beer!), a sink and cupboards. cool atmosphere, nice staff, not too expensive, and right in the heart of the town! I think the town square and the train station alike were ca. 15 minutes away (on foot). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -= DEUTSCH =- Das Cinnamon ist ziemlich cool, mir hat es dort echt gut gefallen. Man muss erstmal an einem Eisengitter klingeln, die Tür darin wird von dem armen Mensch oben geöffnet, der da wahrscheinlich 24 Std.-Schichten schiebt. Aber so ist immer jemand da falls man was braucht. Entlang der Treppe hoch und innen hängen viele Film- und Festivalplakate, die ganz gut zur Atmosphäre beitragen. Die sind auch ganz interessant zu betrachten weil viele polnische dabei sind, also nicht 08/15-Kram. Es ist innen alles sehr bunt und ich liebe einfach diesen offenen Vorraum, wo der "Diensthabende" an seinem Computer sitzt, ein Sofa, Fernseher und ein Esstisch mit 8+ Stühlen ist. Es gibt auch einen Kühlschrank (aber das Bier eines Mitreisenden war am nächsten Tag weg), eine Spüle, Geschirrschränke etc. Am Tisch findet man alles für's Frühstück: Brot, Cornflakes, Müsli(?), Kaffee, viele Teesorten, Wasserkocher, Toaster, Besteck, Teller, Gläser, Milch und ich glaube auch Brotaufstriche und Marmeladen. Die Zimmer heißen wie versch. Gewürze und sind untersch. farbig gestrichen. Man kann sie auch absperren und es gibt abschließbare Spinde (sind aber nicht groß genug für einen anständigen Reise-Rucksack. Von der Sauberkeit her fand ich es in den Zimmern okay aber in den Bädern teilweise nicht so toll. Aber wenn man nicht lange da ist kommt man drüber weg (außer man ist nur in solchen Hostels unterwegs). Also ich kann's nur empfehlen, es ist auch nicht zu teuer und ziemlich nah an der Stadtmitte und dem Bahnhof (beides ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß weg).

I had the Strawberry room (two single beds with ensuite bathroom) and the accommodations were…read moremoderately spacious and the bathroom very spacious. Good hot water and water pressure from the shower. A towel is provided for free. The bed was okay; nothing fancy, but it's a hostel, so it met expectations. There were radiators for heating in both the room and the bathroom, but they would seem to only be working for a short while in the early evening hours. Otherwise, I was slightly chilly, though, the heat must have worked overall in the building, because it was very cold outside, but only slightly chilly indoors. Wifi was a bit hard to use during peak times, but was okay other times. There's a common area that's basically a large kitchen. A refrigerator is provided for guests. Tea provided 24/7 (only one type of tea, as far as I could tell). No elevator/lift in this hostel, so be prepared to do stairs. That said, there aren't that many levels. Reception desk was friendly and efficient, and really spoke English well. Tourist maps provided.
