The champagne upon check-in in the lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas was such a perfect welcome. Being so close to Charles Bridge and the Malostranska subway stop made getting around very easy. And yet the hotel was quiet. Caution exiting the hotel driveway through! Look both ways. The staff at breakfast were fantastic and took great care of us. We enjoyed the buffet most days but the menu items looked delicious. We enjoyed our free beer sample and a cocktail at the bar in the Refectory. Our only complaint would be that the room was warm for our taste and we couldn't quite figure out how to get the A/C on (or if it was an option). The bathroom was especially warm, we called it "the spa" We slept with the windows open and all was well. If you're looking for a luxury stay, you can't do much better.

BEWARE OWNERSHIP CHANGE AT THIS HOTEL!! As of April 1, 2026, the hotel Augustine in Prague was…read morequietly acquired by the Kempinski Group. We made reservations to stay for 7 nights starting yesterday (May 6, 2026). The front desk did not inform us of this but the changes began to emerge, very unpleasantly. First was their refusal to take American Express, which is always honored at every luxury hotel in the world. Second was fact that while they honored the room rate quoted me when I made reservations under Marriott Bonvoy, they quietly removed the paid for inclusion of breakfast buffet. Same room rate but no breakfast. Third were major service staff incompetencies. I went to an ATM outside hotel and withdrew 2,000 CZK (about $50) for tips, and the machine gave me one bill lfor 2,000. I asked desk clerk to break that into smaller bills for me. He told me to go to the bar, which I did. When I entered the bar and asked the waiter to help me, he stated firmly that they were not allowed to do that. I told him that the front desk clerk directed me to the bar but he was insistant, "it is not allowed". Walked back to front desk and said that I was very disappointed that they were not able to get their stories straight about breaking down ONE CZK bill of 2,000. Then I asked about the included breakfast that I had paid for and she said it was not listed in my reservation. It was THEN that I asked and was informed that they are no longer a Marriott Bonvoy affiliated hotel. I went back to my room ans asked an AI app to discover who now owns it. Apparently they are intending to quietly take over, then do major renovations at the end of the year. In the meantime, they have stripped any paid amenities that the guests made under Marriott while claiming to honor the same room rates. I cannot tell whether they now have new employees or whether they have imposed such strict new rules (not honoring AMEX, no bill changing at the front desk, no included breakfast buffet, and so forth). I told the desk clerk that while i normally use credit cards for all my transactions while travelling, my desire to have small local currency was entirely for TIPS for hotel staff. That did not seem to make any impression on her, and the staff seem very rigid and locked into the new rules established by their new owners. This does not bode well for the future of this magnificent medieval former Augustinian monastery. I tried reaching out to the Kempinsky Group through their website but their contact form only allows for certain types of queries such as "investor relations", etc. There is NO ability to give feedback on the policy of their newly acquired property, NOR is the Augustine hotel listed among their properties! This stealth takeover gives off all the wrong messages, considering that they have stripped away the included amenities from the hotel rate that was confirmed by Marriott. To say that I am shocked AND disappointed is an understatement.

Check-in was smooth, and I was assigned to Room 308. The 7am breakfast buffet here is complimentary, Pros: 1. Felt immersed in its beauty and luxury the moment I stepped in. 2. Complimentary 7am breakfast buffet. My favorites among the breakfast selections were perfectly jammy fried eggs, beef broth, smoked herring fillets, chia seed pudding, soft pretzel, blueberry yogurt, and this tiny cake with ridged edges that I forget the name of but I liked it. 3. Walking distance to pretty much just about everything I wanted to do in Prague, right in front of the Powder Tower, and just a few minutes away from the Astrological Clock Tower! 4. Walking distance from the Prague train station. 5. Even though the bathroom was kind of cramped, it was pristine and the shower was very nice and had a tub. 5. Had drinking water dispenser in the lobby 6. Great staff 7. Complimentary tea 8. Robes and slippers 9. Comfy bed 10. Clean and comfortable 11. Smooth check-in and check-out 12. They held my backpack after I checked out so that I could explore Prague some more until it was time for me to head to the airport. Cons: 1. Room was cramped and small 2. The mirror light in the bathroom could have been brighter 3. Could have had proper space to brew tea 4. The lockbox could have been on a lower shelf so that I (a petite woman) didn't have to jump up and see what I put in it.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and the decorations fit the hotel's architectural time frame. We loved all the fine porcelain dishes and crystal they used in the dining area. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. They had lattes, champagne, juices and coffee. Large selection of cheeses, meats, yogurt, fruit, soup, eggs, potatoes, sausages and pastries. Being gluten-free I was able to find many foods I could eat. We enjoyed watching people stroll on the streets while we ate our breakfast. I loved all the little subtle touches the staff provided. One morning a got a cute "Good morning" with my name written on the porcelain saucer. Literally made me day. The front desk was really good with recommendations for a lot of our needs. The hotel was also in a very convenient location. I would definitely recommend it and hope to stay here again.

This boutique hotel is all that it is and more. We were welcomed by drinks (cappuccino for me), while others had champagne. Our rooms weren't ready yet, so they stored our luggage and went exploring. We had two rooms and thankfully they were right next to each other. The rooms were cute and quaint, though a bit small. The design and decor were simple, but it works. Although, the bathroom/shower were all tinted glass and felt a bit weird using the toilet while my partner is showering. I'd wish they had a few more hooks for towels and robes. I do have to say, their toiletries are top notch! I loved the scent of the wash and the lotion. They even offered a lavender spray mist for bed time. Complimentary breakfast for us and it was in this cute indoor/outdoor courtyard. They had a made-to-order menu and then there is a buffet of pastries, fruits, and lighter breakfast items. The service was impeccable and always at your service, very attentive. I used the wellness area a few times for the sauna and steam room. The gym is quite small with a bike, some weights, and perhaps a treadmill? I didn't use it, so I don't remember. The spa room turns on in the evening at 1600hours, unless you ask them to turn it on at a specific time. Their sauna and steam room works extremely well, it's super hot! I had to cool off in the jacuzzi! **Note: EU jacuzzi are cooler, more like warm, than US versions. Overall, loved that we stayed here and had a great time. Also, the train station is about 7 min walk from the hotel!

The hotel is in the perfect location, right near the Old Town Christmas markets as well as a variety of shops and restaurants. I must call out George at the hotel for making our stay perfect. He greeted us by having us move into the bar for a complimentary glass of Prosecco while he filled out all the paperwork. He then came over with our passports, a map and a list of local restaurants broken down by food type. He spent about 10 minutes with us showing us on the map where the best markets were as well as other attractions in the city. Later, he arranged tickets to a local Christmas music concert as well as dinner reservations for after. Another day we were able to reserve massages for the two of us in their beautiful spa, which included a soaking pool, steam room and sauna. When it was time to check out, George arranged for a car to come and take us to the airport. The room was beautiful and well equipped. Unlike other, huge properties, this hotel only has about 30 or 40 rooms so you never feel like you're getting lost in the shuffle. I highly recommend this hotel and Prague as a destination.

I stayed here for 4 nights during my visit in July last summer…read more Great hotel, fairly new property therefore the construction & layout is modern, as is the decor, furnishings and bathrooms. Service was very good. No language problems. The front desk staff was very helpful during check-in process, held the luggage for me as I arrived several hours before the check-in time. They were great about explaining directions, metro/trams, made restaurant recommendations, etc. Ironing board & iron was provided promptly upon request. They have metro/tram tickets available for purchase, saves you the hassle of buying it at the station. Stamps also available for purchase and they mailed out my postcards for me. Room was quite spacious and very comfortable. It was facing the inside of the building (not towards the street) so I had no noise issues at night whatsoever. Black out curtains. Excellent bedding, SO comfortable & VERY clean! I slept really well during my stay here. Very effective air-conditioning (I was here during a heat wave... 97F!). Bathroom is modern, sufficient vanity space and extra shelves for toiletries. Very clean. Well maintained & great housekeeping service, leaving extra free water bottle and chocolate at night. Breakfast was included in my booking, decent selection of breads, meats, cheeses, eggs and fruits etc. These basics are usually what I look for in the morning, so I can't relate to people's complaints about limited choices. Location is simply perfect! Close to everything yet slightly tucked away on the side street. Not so much in the heart of the hustle & bustle that you get disturbed by loud street noise at night yet a short walk to everything major. Around the corner from the Opera & the Powder Tower, keep walking and you are in the Old Town Square in another few minutes. Walk another 10 minutes or so and you are the Charles Bridge. You can continue to walk through there and go over to St. Nicholas and then up to the Prague Castle. Both the Metro & trams are literally a block way, around the corner from the hotel. Past the Opera plenty of shops & restaurants. The two main stations, even for your international trains.....are just about a 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel. If you have heavy luggage the hotel can provide you a cab to go to the main station for a very nominal fee, I think I paid about $8. A small convenience store is a few doors down in case you need to get some toiletries etc. The company seems to have several locations in Europe. I stayed at one of their properties in Budapest, Hungary towards the end of my trip & that was an equally satisfying experience. Highly recommend this place & would stay here again in a heartbeat. Not to mention, great value for $$.

The bathroom has a very high bath tub and narrow. Hard to get in and uncomfortable to stand. The tv froze all the time Breakfast was decent Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. another thing that really surprised me is that it only has one emergency stairs. I was at room 516, at the other end of the hallway, so if there was an emergency I would have to go accross the whole hallway to reach the emergency exit . It is a good option, but there some issues.
