Parking is available for guests but keep in mind that spaces are quite tight. Check in was fairly quick and easy. Our room was quite large and included a double queen bed, a couch and large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and received the approval from our dog, Felix (who has developed an appreciation for 5 star hotels, although this hotel is really more of a 4 star) We ordered room service and it is handled online. Upon ordering, it said that I would receive a confirmation but I didn't. I tried to contact the restaurant but no one picked up. I then contacted the front desk who "transferred" me but disconnected the call. The food was OK. The neighborhood was noisy. It was Friday night and there was an event inside the hotel, as well as in a neighboring building. I was able to close some doors in the hallway, which helped with the noise from the party in the hotel. Breakfast was very impressive. There was a large selection of pastries, fruit, fresh juice, two coffee machines, bacon, sausages, etc. Hot items were available to be ordered. There was also a selection of local specialties that was impressive. The three women who worked in the breakfast area were extraordinarily kind and attentive. Some of the hotel's interior showed the remains of the palace and my husband noted that it would be a lovely spot for a wedding.

We stayed in this branch, in Burgos, and another in San Sebastian, and both were well above average. Clean, good service, good breakfast. This one is apparently a restored palace, so roughly comparable to a Parador, though not quite as elegant, but also not as expensive. Not much English spoken away from the reception desk, possibly because Burgos doesn't get that many English-speaking tourists. But if you're driving up to the Basque region (as we were), Burgos is an excellent choice for a mid-trip stop. Their cathedral is quite spectacular, and worth a visit even if you're not Christian - maybe the best Gothic-style church in the world, now that Notre Dame won't be accessible for awhile. Take the audio tour, which is included in the price of admission.

With great coffee and awesome bocadillios/sandwiches this a great pit stop on your long walk or a nice place to stay. The upstairs has nice clean rooms with a view of the anciet castle on the hilltop. and the 10th century monastery to the right. These rooms are an osasis from the usual Algerge/pilgrim hostel. With spanish charm and beautiful surrondings this is a pit stop you need to make.

Breakfast is available at extra cost. The hotel does have car parking facilities, either in the open car park behind the hotel or at a special rate in a public car park. Parking is quite pricey at 14 euros per night, however this seemed to be the case throughout the town. The entrance to Hotel Cabildo is somewhat confusing, as what appears to be the entrance is actually the back of the hotel, with a sign directing you to a different street for the entrance. It's not immediately apparent where to go, but we found it without too much difficulty. The reception area is very welcoming, brightly lit and has a very modern feel. The majority of the mid-range hotels in Burgos all seemed to charge around the same rate (50 to 60 euro per night). For the price, this was one of the more 'swanky' looking places and we were very impressed. We got a double room, which was very spacious and comfortable., Everything was in excellent condition and well presented. The room had a very modern, new feel to it. The room comprised a double bed, flat screen TV, desk and chair and large wardrobe. We were provided with 4 bottles of water. The bathroom was very impressive. Ornate sinks and a huge bathtub, and what impressed us most of all - the freebies! A full complimentary set of goodies including shower gel, shampoo, a comb, a shaving set, shoe polisher etc Internet was available in the room at an extra charge, there was also an internet terminal at reception. The hotel has it's own restaurant although we didn't eat there so can't comment. Room service was also available. Reception staff were very friendly and we received very good service. This was a good hotel for a short break, well located to see Burgos and good value. A very modern, clean, inviting place with a touch of luxury but without inflated prices.
