This is a typical bare bones, old school, long established hospital up in the neighborhood of Gracia.
The hallways are long, the rooms are bare but utilitarian, and the care is fine... Considering this is August, where most of the staff is on vacation (along with most of the locals), the place is pretty quiet, and it takes quite a while for the nurses to come for assistance - this might not be the norm.
Wifi is not free. Nor is the TV (with a 25 Euro deposit for the remote). The food is rather bland, but that may be due to diet restrictions imposed on my mother. The cafeteria food was decent at 10 Euros for the menu.
After coming from Cima hospital, this place is such a disappointment. It's like being transferred from the W hotel to a Holiday Inn. It serves the same purpose, but now it feels like my mom is in the hospital rather than recuperating in a lovely room after surgery.
Personal realization: I really don't like the barrio of Gracia all that much. maybe it's the current situation? read more
