He believes and teaches what the Bible says. He is straight forward and honest. I love the pastoral staff and especially the worship!!! I was a Saturday night 6pm attendee, then switched to Sundays at 11am. They provide one-on-one prayer partners to pray for and with you. There is an awesome student ministry and childcare during services. They offer an amazing Christmas program, various small group and support recovery options. As well as premarital and after the marriage counseling. If you miss a service they post the message on-line for viewing at your convenience. They offer baptism after services and communion. My sister and I got baptized together in 2005. This church has a lot to offer and provides a host of services and outreach programs. I definitely recommend this church!!! Three identical services offered on the weekends and Bible study on Wednesday.

I went to this church for many, many years. It has become a breeding ground for hate and…read moreintolerance in a way that is extremely un-Christlike. I am blown away by what I've seen from its members in the last decade or so. This year alone, I have been mercilessly harassed by MULTIPLE (4) members of this congregation. I am a public middle school teacher who gave my students book trailers for 65 books in our (board-approved) school library. Because 4 of those books had queer characters, rather than addressing concerns to the actual school board that had approved the books, or talking to me personally, 4 members of this church went INSANE in spreading hate and harassment about me online. The posts and comments made by members of this church were chilling. A friend in the community is the one who finally realized that Grace Church was the common denominator in all of the hate-filled rhetoric. Obviously, there are different interpretations of the Bible -- there are mainline denominations and more conservative ones like Grace, that teach a literal interpretation of certain Bible passages. That's not the issue... the issue is that this seems to have become a breeding ground for contempt in a way that is antithetical to the gospel. I had some great memories of this place as a kid at church camp, but as an adult, I found the teachings to increasingly focus on creating an extreme Us/Them dichotomy that enflames people already leaning towards racism, homophobia, and othering on their own. It has broken my heart to watch this and to experience it firsthand.

I find it to be alive, welcoming in consistent, genuine spirit; lots of learning and growth opportunities (Wed and Sun); racial mix is about even. Can't think of anything negative to say. Genuine faith lives here. Pastors are down to earth and provide good sermons. Encouraging but not pressurized. I'm very happy with this church as I endeavor to grow my faith internally and in life.

My wife and I bounced around for months before we settled here. We searched high and low for a…read morechurch that served more than milk and that focused on what was really important: Christ and his people. We were tired of watching churches spend gobs of money renovating buildings that were just fine the way they were. We were tired of the superficiality and wastefulness we were seeing. At Refuge, we weren't met with useless frills and gift bags, but with genuine people that seemed to genuinely want to get to know us. It wasn't creepy or robotic or weird; these people loved us and each other the way Christians are supposed to. The services teach truth right from the bible, and head pastor, Trey Herweck knows how to deliver a message. He and the staff sometimes make fun of themselves just the way that real people do. Trey personally introduced himself on our first day before we even knew he'd be the guy doing the teaching. I went to one church for almost 5 years without ever meeting the head pastor, and here was this guy shaking my hand on day one, just like he does every Sunday. These are good people and my wife and kids and I couldn't be happier.

The board pastor stated that LGBTQ+, alcoholics, drug addicts and people living in sin would not be welcome to be members here. I believe all churches should welcome all people into church community as that's how growth happens and as that's the whole point of Christ: being the physical incarnation and sacrifice of Gods Love!
