Such a beautiful lake. We visited yesterday and like to come often to kayak or paddleboard. We went to the grill area and grilled some hot dogs and just enjoyed the nice weather. Stayed around until closing. Bathrooms are fairly clean also

Nice, quiet, relaxing little beach. Lots of grass area and shade, but sanded beach area as well. Not big but not too crowded. It's more relaxing beach experience, though admittedly you're certainly missing out on the waves and just overall charm of the ocean - there really is no substitute for that. Still, a nice spot, easy parking for $10/car. Food spot, though predictably overpriced, but not nearly as bad as the shore. All depends on what you're looking for.

This was my first time visiting the Park. I was able to get in the lake and use my paddle board with my family. Everyone seem very nice at the state park and very respectful of each other's space. The lake was beautiful I have no complaints about it. The only thing is that the bathrooms are not that well kept, and one of the stalls do not lock.

Beautiful beach with a grassy knoll overlooking the lake. A great place to spend a weekday afternoon because it gets crowded on summer weekends. Hopefully the algae blooms clear soon so that people can use the beach again.

Last day of swimming we arrived a little late everyone was kicked out of the water around 6:50 so definitely not a go to for procrastinators

Just get there early, don't make a mess and clean up after yourself. Is that so hard to ask? Follow those rules and you'll love this place.

Scenic walking trails and paths which wander throughout this Park lead to clusters of oak trees and cherry blossoms. This is a very popular destination for wedding photos on the bridge or gazebo as well as the entire Park. It's very rare not to see wedding parties taking pictures here especially on weekends. Local Ceremonies are also held at this Park which is the perfect backdrop for any engagement that Officials deem worthy of "Special" Town business.

My family and &I were waiting for the cherry blossom tress to be in full bloom & Hurd Park did not disappoint! Amazing trees and cute wooden bridges! We also loved the dedication to the army and military. There is a whole area dedicated to them and it is beautifully done. This just adds such a special meaning to the park. The park is very well taken care of. What a memorable place. This park also boast lots of scenery for great pictures for any occasion. My children had a great time running, exploring, reading about the soldiers and resting under the trees.

The cocktail hour was held in a separate building from the rest of the ceremony. There were a ton of food options for the cocktail hour. Charcuterie, a pasta bar with a delicious mushroom bolognese, and lots of drink options. Everything was beautiful, lots of decks and corners to round, and places to gather. Never had to fight anybody for a place to sit or anything. The actual reception room was large, but felt very intimate. The chairs were comfortable. The acoustics were good enough I could hear everybody at my table while the band was still playing. There were plenty of bathrooms. After the sun went down, they started a bonfire outside. There were lots of mosquitos out, though. We only sat out there a couple minutes because we were getting eaten up. I wouldn't expect them to spray the whole property, but I imagine there might be some sort of bug control solution that could work for event nights. Tiki torches? Citronella something? We had so much fun, and Waterloo really was beautiful. I'm sure that most events here play Waterloo by ABBA. It was a crowd pleaser.

I have done here for years and it has always been a peaceful walk. I just happened to go up on canal day when a lot of the buildings are open and people are allowed to look around inside them. It is a great doorway to our country's past. I would suggest anyone to go at least once.
