Last night, I decided to stop in to the Hooters location in Port Charlotte, Florida. Honestly, the last time I stopped in the experience, wasn't quite up to my expectations. I had the clam chowder, for example, last time, and it was very watery. It seemed like perhaps the quality of food and service had slipped a bit. That means said I have been a loyal patron of this particular location for many years This time of year I work two jobs. Monday was my only day off scheduled. I very much wanted to see the Baltimore ravens and the Detroit Lions Monday night football game. I was welcomed by the bartender Dani even though she was engaged with conversation with a regular. I was then promptly saw Destinee who's waited on my in the past. I knew I was in good hands. I was surprised even though the economy isn't doing the best the restaurant was relatively slow. I figured given the fact it was a premiere NFL matchup the place would be packed. I like most people now a days am being very particular about how I spend my money. I wanna be very much taken care of at sit down restaurants. Destinee is everything the Hooters brand wants from their floor servers. Shes full of positivity and charm. I was joined a few times by Dani at my table. I've known her for a while as well. They were introduced me to the future Hooters star Jaylynn. She was awesome as well. All three of these ladies insured my time and experience was memorable. The food was hot and fresh too! So I received an email telling me that for Veterans Day Hooters was offering servicemen and veterans a free entree. I do love the wings at Hooters so my wife Kathy and I decided to go. As we walked in there was a table front and center with a white table cloth and single Red Rose to represent the blood they shed for their country, in a vase with a red ribbon the determination to honor those missing along with a slice of lemon to reflect the bitter fate of those who did not return, a pinch of salt to signify the tears shed, an inverted glass they cannot toast with us, an empty chair their absence is felt and an American flag! As a proud US Marine, I so appreciated this thoughtful gesture! We were seated comfortably and quickly. Kathy ordered a gin & tonic (surprised it did not have a lime or lemon in the glass but no big deal). I ordered my usual Arnold Palmer. I have had Arnold Palmers at hundreds of restaurants and I have to say I was blown away how absolutely delicious and perfect it tasted! So much that Kathy tasted it and ordered one as well! I ordered an appetizer of Clam Chowder and Kathy ordered the soft pretzel pieces with a cheddar cheese sauce. IT WAS A 15 out of 10! Soooo amazing! The soup was good. Kathy ordered the chicken sandwich and I order 10 hot naked (no breading) wings and 10 of the Daytona Beach naked wings. Served with celery. Both lived up to my expectations and were very good! As for the service..... Our server's name was Destiny and she was a spectacular welcoming attentive pleasant and beautiful young lady that Kathy and I HIGHLY recommend and will ask for when we return! I wish more people that work at servers were as wonderful as Destiny! Left her a bigger tip than my usual 20%. The restaurant looked clean and the ambiance was very comfortable. I do like to go to Hooters on occasion for the wings or the snow crab legs but after our experience this Veterans Day, Kathy and I WILL be returning much sooner! I live local and frequent Hooters. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Gotten to know many of the regulars and staff. It's always an enjoyable visit. However, I am a big baseball fan and often stop in to watch my team. I was extremely disappointed to learn that Hooters no longer has MLB package. Big mistake in my opinion. read more

Grew up in Tampa where Hooters began. We love Hooters! This was our first time at this Hooters location in Port Charlotte, Fl. I have to say, this was a very disappointing experience. When we walked in the floors were pretty dirty and sticky. We went for my husband's birthday who was craving Hooters wings. We ordered 20 hot wings and an order of Onion rings. Wings and onion rings came out cold and the wings were unusually small and not seasoned Hot. We had eaten about 3 wings when we got them. When the waitress finally came around we explained the wings were cold, small and didn't taste like they were prepared hot as we requested and the onion rings were cold. She got the manager John. We explained to him the situation. We asked him if he could please re-make us another order with hot sauce and he said that he could not but that he could take what we had on our plate back and re-toss them in hotter sauce that's all that he could do for us or he could bring us some hotter sauce like 3 Mile Island. He took the onion rings away and took them off the bill, but we were never asked if we wanted anything else to substitute the onion rings with like fries. The wings did not taste the same because they were not tossed while they were hot in the 3 mile island sauce. I just cannot believe that's how a manager would handle things especially after we requested them to remake them. The manager should've been the one who suggested to let him remake them for us. So I was there on Sunday 02/05/23 And I had the most and the worst experience ever when the server bring our drinks I find a finger nail in side my drink !!! Then I order my appetizer Buffalo shrimp never get it in till all my dinner items were at my table already service suck big time never going back !! Service sucks at this location. Every time we've visited you practically have to beg for your check, a refill, or your to go order. Ordering to go is a nightmare. Prepare to wait 30-45 minutes longer than the website says because you'll be ignored for the first 20 minutes of that time then they'll start preparing your food after the fact. I always enjoy the cute girls and big screen TV sets all around the bar. All the girls were super busy when i came in and sat at the patio bar. Attitudes were good, service was good, food was okay. A few of the young guys at the outside bar were a little rowdy, but not out of control. I ordered the mini burgers (sort of like sliders) and a soda. I had to eat fast and get off to a billiards game down the street. The server was Nathasha, the bill was $14.96. All I had in my wallet to pay for the meal was a $50 bill and three $1 bills. I had pre-ordered my order for the Super Bowl game early on through Bite Squad. I later confirmed with them (by phone to Hooters) that our order was good. I get a notification an hour beforehand that my order was cancelled! I called the restaurant and they said the decision was made later that day. Way to leave several customers without their wing orders! I was lucky to get wings at a more reputable place nearby for the game. What business sense does it make to turn away carry out? Look, I (honestly) don't expect any sort of flirting or whatnot from a Hooters server - but how about a simple greeting, or a "have a nice day", "thanks for coming by" - is that too much to ask? Basic courtesy? A check plopped in front of me, and zero acknowledgement that a customer (who is leaving your tip) exists shouldn't be acceptable. Holy Fungoly! We had a Blast here for a late lunch. I took my boys there for wings, and ended up trying almost everything! Hooters isn't what it used to be. It was an early 2000's thing that kinda died off after Limp Bizkit and skateboarding wasn't cool anymore. Wings here are super small and are over sauced. Concentration seems to be on getting food out of the kitchen rather than quality of the food itself. Burgers are always super greasy and fries are sub par. Went for an early dinner, which turned out be right at shift change, which meant not a lot of attention from the staff. Food was okay, but we did get a little distracted by the BIG A** RAT that decided to take up residence under our table. Another customer managed to catch the rat, while the staff was screaming and jumping around. Management did not, in any way try to reach out to us, or handle the situation in any way, what so ever. They actually charged us full price for our meal, with no acknowledgement of our discomfort. A rat can happen for all restaurants, but not addressing it, with the involved customers, is unforgivable.
