The Original Hooters... must-stop for travelers as it's the original, but i guess if you're a local then it's a good option for those game/fight nights... but to come here for food is a joke. i dunno why my husband loves hooters wings... it's greasy and slimy. the only thing i really like is the celery/carrots/dips. i think buffalo wild wings is better. or the wings at the bowling alleys... but seriously, we had the wings, naked wings, onion rings, fries and the lobsters and those king legs and they were a disappointment. only saving grace is the hooter girls are always nice... but that's their job, right? read more

I've made an account and come on here because the service we received yesterday from Courtney (pretty lady with blonde hair) was absolutely wonderful! I've worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years and she really was an absolute credit to your team! Nothing was too much, she always had a smile on her face and was so polite! This is the original. Took me a long time to finally make it to this one. I recall the first time I ever went to a Hooter's was on River Walk in San Antonio, circa 1986. But I digress. You can always count on any Hooter's to be fairly busy at lunch and dinner time and this trip was certainly no exception. That said, service was fast and friendly. For this visit, the main course consisted of the Big Baja Burger and fries, topped off with a beer. That was followed by Peanut Butter Cup Pie. The burger was a bit messy with food particles deciding they did not wish to remain in place until I consumed them, but the flavor was very good. The pie was scrumptious, but I am a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate. Overall, a very tasty outing. read more

You have to come here simply because it's the ORIGINAL Hooters. The service is horrible. Don't expect drink refills or the waitress to check if everything is OK. I guess most of the waitresses do well by flirting with their customers. The food is, well, typical horrible Hooters food. For being the OG hooters I was disappointed for sure. They sat a table of 6 including children right under and air vent so we were freezing. One of us got Oysters and they no longer provide a shuck. They forgot to bring the 2 year old his menu/ crayons. And my wings and tots were straight up cold. Also for being the original you'd think it would be held to a higher standard. At first the service was good, but out of no where we were told by a manager that we would have to leave if we kept taking pictures of our server and if we kept talking bad about our server. the manager was rude and impolite, assuming we were. She had no right to come up to us and tell us we were talking about her when we weren't. she said don't look confused because she was listening. If you have no respect for me, i have no respect for you. We are teenagers, no one was doing anything for you to be disrespectful like that, you should learn how to be a manager if you have the position. I tipped the server good to show my respect now learn your place in a restaurant. You have a great night and learn to speak respectfully to costumers. read more

The service was great and our server Kelsey was very attentive. The place was very clean as were the restrooms, which was impressive since it was pretty crowded. I mostly went here just to say I was at the first Hooters. The layout was like any other sports bar. The waitress was nice but not overly friendly by any means. I ordered wings and they were ok, but not ones I would order there again with them being small and without much meat compared to other wing places I've been to. read more

Big fail. I was really looking forward to the original Hooters and came out of my way to find it. The vibe was off. Not a single waitress smiled and the music was inaudible. Our waitress was short with us and indifferent. She put in the order wrong. Mine and my fiance's food came and we waited an extra 15 minutes for my uncle's correct order. Then, our indifferent waitress took an incredibly long time to bring our bill after we requested it. To top it off, we tried to purchase a shot glass from the waitress at the front who replied by snapping at us, "wait!". She ignored us for nearly 10 minutes when we just decided to leave without the glass Hooters food is what it is. It's never bad, it's never great. We go there for the experience. This experience, which should have been the best seeing as it's the original, was a huge failure. Get it together Hooters. Hire some waitresses who are friendly and who care and in the meantime, do clean some house and remove the inhospitable people who shouldn't be working in the service industry. read more

3 stars this visit....5 for the food which was really good. Hot and fresh and order was accurate but it's a 1 star again for the service. We had very little attention to our table of 4. Had to get our servers attention to place an appetizer, had to ask to clear plates, ask to get fresh ones after the appetizer, etc. Just annoying. And it was busy but not that busy. There were plenty of times she passed our messy table with a "how ya doing?" But did not stay long enough to hear the response. Coming to The Original Hooters is like coming Home. You walk in the front doors and get greeted by Beautiful Young Ladies that Radiates the Example of what Clearwater Florida is all about. Having a busy day in Downtown Clearwater, We chose to Come to this Hooters for our lunch. I know that when we come here, the Oysters are as fresh as can be. The Cuban Sandwiches seem as Authentic as the Beautiful Beaches of Clearwater. We noticed as we walked in that there are all walks of people coming in and out , and know that it must be a Happening place by the Smiles you pass by. Its also amazingly noticeable of the Managers Matt, Patrick and Peter . These Managers seem to Truly care about your comfort and Happiness in their store. Each one was seen walking the floor and speaking to each customer as if they were Old Friends just visiting their home. The Hooters girls are Attractive and Intelligent. Always engaging with Smiles to Light up Clearwater itself. Our Waitress was Ms. Johana. This young Lady was indeed a sweet little thing. Ms. Johana kept our drinks flowing and always aware when we needed something else. (Ms. Christina?), not being our waitress also engaged us as we left in conversation. The food is awesome and the Hooters girls are nice to look at and pleasant to Talk to, each having a beautiful smile. JUST AWESOME. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HOOTERS P.S. I have no problem with the food. If I were searching for healthy things, I'd be at Sweet Tomatoes and would never darken your door again. I am a regular take out customer & understand that environmental issues means no more styrofoam. Excellent! HOWEVER, you serve (extra) greasy chicken wings; now that they're in a cardboard box, perhaps a sheet of waxed paper or paper towels/napkins that don't require me to spend 20 minutes cleaning my passenger seat (thank goodness it's leather!) because the wing grease leaked. Or I could just go to Sweet Tomatoes. I get that your business will still be fine whether I purchase or not, but I'm thinking maybe I'm not the only one with the grease issue. read more

This location isn't as glamorous as others so the view isn't great outside. Inside however, you get your usual eye candy which in this area is above par. The food was pretty great for a Hooters. The service was about average for any restaurant. I'd go again. read more

SOOOO disappointed :( I never thought too highly of Hooters to begin with; however, I am still shocked at how bad my take out just was. I was so excited to grab some wings and curly fries, just to get home to fries that taste like they've been sitting under a heat lamp and wings that look like they came from a baby chicken :( When my mom handed me the togo bag, i thought it was the ranch and napkins it was so light. Finally, I had the opportunity to visit the original Hooters in Clearwater, FL. A lot of history here. Good size restaurant. Good size retail section. I decided to sit at the indoor bar section, greeted by Melissa, the bartender. Larger menu options compared to CA Hooters...enjoyed my Wednesday Wingsday boneless chicken wings with BBQ sauce and Legendary "83" Margarita special. Afterwards, I decided to buy a half priced shirt in the retail section. By the time I got back to my hotel, I checked the receipt and was slightly overcharged for the shirt. It was over by 50 cents but still...my fault I did not check it right away. Overall, it was fine. I usually get a photo with Hooters Girls at every restaurant I visit, but didn't have the feel or vibe there to do it. But I can check this off my wish list. Melissa was fine serving me. Foods always fresh, I never have to wait longer than 20 minutes, and the waitresses are extremely attentive to their tables. Still took a few minutes for her to take my drink order. Then ordered 10pc shrimp, 10 PCM naked wings, medium.
