It's been years, but this has a great right break. Left is a little sketchy when the tide is going out because you're literally over the reef. Good for spongers. (Boogie boarders) Surfers head south to banyans. I took this picture and put it on canvas so I can look at it every day, it's the best little beach you'll ever see. *Warning -this break can also close out, so take 20-30 minutes to watch it. Only go out when you are confident with your ability.

Can watch sunset from here. Picnic tables. Small beach just south Kona Reef Resort & of town center. Has a sign for strong current. Bathroom & shower across the street at south end of the beach Homeless noticed at least 1 homeless (who kept to himself at a picnic table). Located 1/2 mile south of town center .4mile (2min or ~7min walk) south of Huggo's Parking found along the street. Picnic table few picnic tables along with few benches

Small beach that is especially beautiful on a bright sunny day. It is easily accessible and usually not crowded. There is a hammock to relax and catch some rays. There are no restrooms. There are benches and picnic tables as well as many shade trees.

Gorgeous white sand beach. Not crowded, easy and ample parking, bathrooms across the street, and I believe I saw someone grilling? About half shade and half full sun. There are some tables and rocks to sit on and you can also do some swimming here. It's very peaceful and stunning sunsets (although I don't think there's a "bad" spot for sunsets this side of the island). And it is down the street from all of the hustle and bustle of Ali'i Drive without having to fight the crowds. Love.

Nice, Sandy and there was a lifeguard on duty. Will revisit this spot again for swimming fun.

Lovely little stretch of beach. They have a rinse off area and bathrooms across the street.

IMHO this is the best all-around snorkeling beach on the…read moreisland, but as with any ocean activity the surf and tide will affect your experience, so ask the lifeguards or the volunteers for advice. This protected bay has over 120 species of resident fish, and usually has clear water. Other than urchins (7 species) there is no marine life to worry about. Turtle sitings are more likely at high tide when their salad bar (the algae on the rocks) is available. Typically from 9 to 3 daily the Reef Teach volunteers have photo guide books and other reference materials available, along with free advice, defog spray, and reef-safe sunscreen. Water access is the narrow and shallow rocky channel in front of the lifeguard station by the parking and pavilion. Swim fins or sand shoes are recommended. The locals value their feet and swim through it even at low tide when it is only a foot deep. Coming back in you can actually swim all the way back to the sandy channel. The water is usually noticeably warmer and clearer away from the entry. The bay is shallow with only a few places that are even 8' deep at high tide. Unless you really need to, don't stand on the bottom or coral - fins and feet damage it.

The area itself didn't have much amenities, but definitely have palm trees and shade, which was nice in the afternoon. Happy to make it on our first day
