The thing that surprised me the most was how inexpensive it was for how large the portion is - about 6 Euro. I also tried the mango lassi but wasn't as happy with that. I have to admit: I only come here for the curry and order it with the rice noodles because I deserve it. There are different curries (with lychee, mango, peanut or sweet potato). Every dish is well composed and comes with some fresh lettuce. Since the venue is super small I recommend to avoid the rush hours around 18:00 - 19:00 or give them a call before hand. Yelp had led us here several years ago - time to finally write a contribution. Best Pho in town - who knows? But this soup speciality is definitely good here. But this time it should be the fried glass noodles. First of all some spring rolls with dip. That's fine! The dining room is quite big, you already notice that you are sitting in a hall. But the weather in Berlin can't keep up in every situation with the weather in southeast Asia. They are not uniform here - the tables. Apparently some of them come outside when the weather is fine. Anyway, we found a clean table (the staff is cleaning diligently) and after a short wait the card arrived. A bit grubby - but ok, probably this is "authentic". Two beers (Hefeweizen), the mentioned dishes, for afterwards still coffee (after all Vietnam is the second largest coffee producer in the world - after Brazil). Wosh, it took only a short time until the drinks came. My starter shortly after and only a few minutes later the main meal. The final brew coffee in the archaic aluminium filter after a short request if it can be served. Even if the staff changed, everything worked smoothly and the food was all convincing. I asked for the sauce on the side, didn't happen. When it was time for the check, I first gestured the universal sign of putting your hand up with fingers mimicking holding a fake pen and the signing gesture while mouthing "the check please". The waiter comes up to me and starts discussing about how I should be able to afford my meal. It should not be expensive, do I have cash on me? ... And is refusing to just bring the check until I went to management. The owner/manager doesn't speak English so he said 'sorry,' understood something made me unhappy. I paid my bill and left. I was dressed in sweats and had a backpack with me, so the waiter must have prejudged me, I can only assume, though my cloths were clean and my hair groomed.
