On our way to Harleysville we stopped here to buy groceries and got a craving for wontons from Hong Kong! They're friendly and quick! I ordered crab Rangoon, my favorite!!! I always order mine without that super sweet sauce. I prefer a subtle sweet with a kick to it so I mix duck sauce and wasabi mustard. This restaurant is an order take out type, no table service. It is clean, I didn't see cobwebs hanging, nor fingerprints on the windows and doors. The counter was clean as well as under. The cooking area looked clean, no caked up grease! Having seen our two favorite Chinese takeout joints close, we've limped along with very mediocre fare for a while. This place is not convenient but I was out and going nearby so, time to give it a try. Eggroll was best either of us have EVER had. General Tso's Chicken and Pork Fried Rice also very good. Local Chinese food can be so hit or miss, but Hong Kong is fantastic. It's nestled in a shopping center off of 100 and seems unassuming, but I promise it's delicious. I had the General Tso's chicken platter with fried rice and an egg roll. The meat was not grisly or chewy like it can be in other Chinese restaurants and the sauce was a nice thick consistency with just the right amount of heat. I also ordered the crab rangoon which were the best I've had (and I've had a loooot of them all up and down the East Coast). This appears to be run by a nice couple. He cooks in an open kitchen and she is front of house. Their kids (and other kids) sit at the few tables and were well behaved. I wish them well. They seem nice, and it was great fun to watch him cook. My family did not like any of the dishes. complained they tasted the same (not quite true, but a bit true). The soup was good. The appetizer, which I hogged, led to some urgent tummy trouble in the night -- So it must have been that, not the other dishes. We left the leftover food at the motel, and did not bring it home, which is rare for us. They perhaps need better ingredients, and crisper cooking technique. Or better recipes. There is no reason for us to go back, but if they read this, I do wish them well, and thought that their basic set up is good, just the food is not so good. The positive reviews leave me quite questioning them. Or we ordered the wrong things, as the soup was good. (but, don't sell bad things!). read more

And trust me, I've explored the menu. So the other day, I decided to try their Wonton Soup with their Crab Rangoon. I couldn't finish the Soup. I don't know how it's supposed to taste because I've never had it before, but to me, it tasted like straight up OIL. Order from this place at least 2 times a month and never disappointed. Coming from Long Island, NY we have some of the best Chinese food restaurants so I had high expectations when I moved down here. This place knocked it out of the park and has so much flavor in everything I've tried. Place is your normal hole in the wall Chinese restaurant, with the same woman always working the counter. Shes very friendly, very understandable as well. Food comes out super fast, even on a busy Friday or Saturday night and is always hot even after driving it home. Can order enough food to feed 2 people for the night and get extra for lunch next day for cheap as well which is awesome. I've never had a bad experience from this place and doubt I ever will. Only negative I would say is the Wonton soup wasn't 100% to my liking but guess I'm just use to the one from my place back home. Our usual order consists of items like, beef or chicken and broccoli, lo mein, wonton soup, egg drop soup, steamed & fried dumplings. Always delicious and well cooked each and every time. No debate, I will continue to order from this restaurant because of the food and the friendliness of the owners. read more

On September 15, 2018 I place an order with Hong Kong restaurant I bought general chow chicken, boneless spareribs, chicken wings And and vegetable fried rice. The fried chicken was bland, hard and old. Overall the food would was not well made. The customer service was horrible they overcharged me on some chicken on a stick for which I did not order. On top of that they want me to bring it back. The icing on the cake was not they made mistake her arrogant wanted me to return the chicken on a stick. This is pure unadulterated Trumpism. What I recommend is that no one visit this restaurant until they clean up theirs act and second learn how to give proper customer service. With that being said their other great places in Exton and Downingtown that provide good customer service and great food. read more

We recently tried Hong Kong Restaurant after many, many years of having gone elsewhere. What a nice surprise it was! The food is truly excellent!! Much better than you'd ever expect from a take out only chinese restaurant in an older strip center. We've gone back now at least a half a dozen times and every dish we've ordered has been delicious! From the wonton soup to the hot and sour soup to the orange beef to the Kung Po chicken to the Szechuan Chicken...well, everything we've tried really! Hole in the wall - standard looking Chinese takeout place in a strip mall. But this food is way beyond anything I have ever had at a similar takeout place. This food is all fresh and wonderfully cooked. The steamed dumplings were some of the best I have had, and I have had dumplings at many places (including the homes of some of my Chinese friends). Service was quick and they were really friendly. Orange chicken and pork Ho Fun (flat noodles) were both very good. Large portions, great prices, they even gave us extra dumplings.
