I love this dealership. I got my Civic there 5 years ago and when it came time to trade it in there was no question I would go back. The saleswoman Evy listened to what we wanted and didn't waste our time looking at something we had no interest in. Stephanie in financing was a pleasure to deal with. Just bought a 2004 Civic from Honda North. First time I've purchased from a dealership. Great experience all around. No pressure at all from sales staff. Was able to test drive the car on the highway and actually go over 30 mph. Previous experiences at other dealers were more of the traditional, 'what can we do to get you to buy this car today?' At one dealer, Cambridge Honda, the car wouldn't start. Not the best method of persuasion. So, any perspective Honda buyers should def check out Honda North. I just returned from a frustrating attempt to purchase a car from Honda North. I had selected a used Civic for my mother-in-law (who was with me) that was in their used stock. After walking around outside for sometime without anyone approaching us, though 4 salesmen did pass us without so much as greeting, we went inside to the receptionist desk. We waited there for 10 minutes observing many employees moving around and looking at us--but again no one approached us. This sort of treatment is unforgivable and unthinkable for a dealership that claims to be "customer focused" What a joke. read more

We bought a new Honda Accord from Honda North in 2016. Our purchase experience was the typical car-buying hassle. We went in with five email price quotes in hand, after some dickering the sales manager agreed to match the lowest one. The hassle was getting a fair price on the trade in. We had a mint Subaru Impreza, for which both car value references sites had an average tradein value of $15000, ours was super clean, all records and still under factory warranty. The salesman first offered $12,000 as trade-in, it took over thirty minutes of hassle to get him to $14,500 at which point my wife kicked me under the table, so I shut up and took it. I guess you just need to walk away right away when low-balled, perhaps they'll call you with a fair tradein while your on the way to the next dealer. You have to walk away! By the way, the Honda Accord is a lovely car and a good value. read more

Stay far away!!!! Lots of suspect behavior and deals going on at this dealership. I just read on their Facebook page that they charge higher sales tax than other dealerships for the same price. Sales managers are very rude here and do not make you feel welcome. Salesman don't really factor into anything except waste a lot of your time. After having the bad experience here I started telling friends and noticed a pattern because some of them also had crazy stories. One of my friends was closing on a loan and was told he had to pay two months of his payment up front at the closing. These guys play games and should not be trusted. read more

A WORD OF WARNING: The ratings are deliberately faked. When you have service at Honda North, you get an email encouraging you to rate them at the top--excellent--when you get a routine subsequent email seeking your opinion. If you feel you can't give it that rating, you are instructed to contact them by phone or email to explain why. I did this, by email, receipt of which was never even acknowledged. A follow-up email from me asking if they were accustomed to ignoring emails (sent by "reply to" in order to avoid any possibility of wrong address.) And no follow-up from them to this second inquiry. HOWEVER, they obviously removed me from the list of people being sent an email to assess the performance. In other words, they send such requests ONLY to people who at least are willing to ignore poor service. This means if you look and see they have a lot of enthusiastic assessments, you need to realize they have selectively asked for assessments from those who have no concerns--and they have no interest in following up with those who do have concerns in trying to get things right. Service Call I purchased a car a few years ago from this dealer new. I've had to contact the dealership regarding service a few times recently, and I have to say that the experience with the staff that ANSWERS CALLS ON BEHALF OF SERVICE was downright awful. The tone of the SERVICE CALL STAFF was unenthusiastic, dismissive and at times rude. "That's not my job" and "I'm not customer service" were muttered audibly during the call, which was extremely unprofessional. Is anyone monitoring these calls? You can buy a Honda anywhere. Signed the paperwork last night for a used Honda with John Delfonso at the business office. My car was purchased through ICL (the old Honda location) with sales consultant Chad Nobrega..and a second Chad whose last name I was not given. While I love the car and hope I continue to love it, I was unimpressed and felt unwelcome on a personal level through the purchasing process at the main Honda facility. The Honda North business office, I thought, was known for great customer service. However every person I encountered there seemed standoffish, unfriendly and extremely/overly anxious. I understand that I bought a used car, and maybe that could be why I was not given the level of respect I hoped for, but it's unfortunate if that were the case. Not only was I excited to get myself a car, but I had heard many good things about Honda! So I was truly let down after encountering the employees. I am sad to say I don't feel that I should recommend Honda North to my friends who are currently looking for new and used cars. The only positive thing I can say is that the main facility was clean and well kept. I should add that while I was in the office with John, I could (very clearly) overhear a loud confrontation between what sounded like a manger and salesperson. The manager was scolding and complaining about the salesperson's numbers. Sure I know that's part of the auto sales process..but as a customer I don't want to hear that while I'm trying to focus on paperwork and discussions about my new car! Seems like that should be kept behind the scenes. Also ICL auto center did not have soap in either of the bathrooms..and all antibacterial stands were empty as well..heads up for anyone who needs to use the restroom. First of I traded a 2014 Toyota Rav4 x4le with 52k miles I bought a 2016 Honda Accord lx with 16kmiles I got $ 53 over KBB trade in value for the Rav4 they gave me the printout I paid $ 161 over KBB private party value not Dealer retail I am 70 years old with a flip phone I was not looking for a vehicle my son was looking at 2019 but didn't like them and i told him I was staying to see how much Honda North would give me for my Rav 4 towards a Honda Accord. My son left. My son told me the next day if I had a smart phone I could turn a good deal into great deal. The difference was $900 it was my fault not theirs. Honda North told me to come in and they said they would see what they could do. Well I thought I was out of luck. In the end Honda North wrote me a check for $901 which resulted in me buying a 2016 Honda Accord lx for $161 over private party. My 32 year old son said I quote get rid of the flip phone its a dinosaur. He said he would buy me a new iPhone I said thanks anyway. But he's right. Do you think I am happy with my deal you bet I am. I know this deal sounds to good to be true but it did happened. For all you people who have a smart phone and know what they want have a big advantage over me. Remember I was not in the market for another car. I decided to check out the vehicles because I am old and don't like brushing snow off a suv. Crazy me. This being my first actual car buying experience I was completely blown away by the disrespect and utterly disgusting poor customer service I was shown by the salesperson named Ed. I am big into shopping around and actually had visited Honda North a week prior where I test drove/worked with a great salesperson (Linda) who offered a great deal. This week I went back with my mother to possibly make a purchase and worked with Ed who was rude, condescending, and disrespecting to both my mother and I. At one point we sat down and I brought up the deal that was offered to me the prior week, but was called a liar and laughed at. We felt so disrespected and embarrassed we left right there. Best car buying experience possible. We emailed Honda North for a quote ahead of time, and received a quote below most area competitors (see my review of Silko Honda for our experience with the dealer who made a lower offer online but refused to honor it in person) and well below TrueCar's "great price." When we went in to the dealership we met with Garrett who sold us the car for exactly that price, no up-sell attempts, no run-around about add-on features. This is a dealership that gets it. As a bonus, they have an RMV in the building, and had our plates made up right when we turned in our paperwork. I also liked that they had a large parking lot with plenty of space, unlike some of the Boston dealerships where the cars are probably getting scratched up and dinged from being shoehorned in and out of tight spaces. At the Honda in Burlington the salesman even told us there was a baseball field behind the dealership and stray balls sometimes hit the cars! And, I think it's logical that the land would be cheaper in Danvers than downtown Boston, leading to more flexibility on how cheap they can sell the cars. A LITTLE ABOUT CAR BUYING: I see that other yelpers complain Honda North won't budge on price, but I would much rather do my due diligence ahead of time and walk in KNOWING what is a good price and be prepared to accept it, rather than shop at a dealer where my price is based on my skills as a haggler and I may or may not walk out with a good deal. Here is what we did ahead of time: 1. We paid the $15 or whatever to Consumer Reports for all the details on the car we wanted (Honda Civic) and found out ahead of time the actual price dealers pay on the vehicle, available rebates, etc, and what other area customers had paid for their Civics. (note that in our experience, TrueCar was not a good indicator of actual price, though it was useful for seeing which cars sell at or above MSRP and which are in low demand in your area. In New England, SUV's are big sellers but small cars like the Civic are much less popular than they are elsewhere.) 2. We googled Honda dealers in MA and requested a quote from all of them by email. (I set up a designated email account for this ahead of time. I'm glad I did because I still get about 5 emails a day from the dealerships). 3. We checked the reviews of the dealers online to see if people were saying they honored their offers. Then when we chose a dealer to visit, we called ahead to make sure they would honor the offer. (Even after doing this, the first dealer we visited sprang surprise add-on costs on us. It was annoying, but much easier knowing we had a stack of emails from other dealers who would hopefully honor their quotes). 4. We went in to Honda North, with insurance lined up and financing figured out, and we made it clear we were ready to buy that day for the price quoted in the email but that we would walk if they tried to add a penny beyond tax, title and license fees. We also went on the last weekend of the month, although I can't say for sure whether this made a difference. The bottom line is we walked IN with a quote in hand that we were happy with. If Honda North's quote had been higher than competitors or higher than our research had shown it should be, we would've haggled by email before we set foot in the dealership or we would've gone elsewhere. This is the way car buying should be. Why spend an afternoon arguing when you can get an honest deal ahead of time and just walk in and claim it? Once you sign off on your Honda purchase, Honda North will take you for a 'ride' financially and strap you to the car hood directly headed to their Service Department. By purchasing a Honda, you are 'marrying' and funding their Service Department. Provide the Honda Service Department your bank account's PIN because that Department is their moneymaker. Everything with Honda North is overpriced from oil changes to windshield wiper blades. Their employee turnover is indicative how they treat people including customers. I purchased one of Honda's high end cars thinking that I would receive superior service, and I have not. Like all second rate dealerships, once you sign on the dotted line, their attentiveness evaporates as your signature dries on the contact. I REGRET purchasing my car from that dealership. Those of you in the market for a Honda, beware or be ready to turnover your bank account's PIN to their Service Department. Oh yes, they'll give you a 'chip' for a free beverage; however, like their Service Department, the free drinks aren't strong enough to counter their poor Customer Service. read more

Went shopping for a Honda yesterday and if you look at my other reviews you'll see some of the worst experiences (others were in the middle). While I still have some more shopping to do, the folks at Honda North were consistent with their pricing, and while low on the trade and therefore may not earn my business they were fair, efficient and very straightforward. If you're looking for a Honda they were worth an internet inquiry (must do step as pricing may be different) plus a visit. Very happy with the knowledge, service and honesty of this place. Some organizations have a method and policy for hiring honest employees that permeate their organization, this is one of those places. For the past 5 years I've been searching for an Honest dealership on the North Shore to bring my Honda Element to. I believe this place is the most honest out of the Honda Dealerships of Boch (2 stars), Herb Chambers of Burlington (1 star), and this place has the best knowledge, service and honesty (5 stars). Of course you pay a premium for the honesty and to get things done right. My alignment on my rear wheels were off for 18 months, brought it to Sears, Midas, Herb Chambers and wasted my money. This place was the only Dealership that fixed the issue. Same with diagnoising my Brake issue as rusted rotors and not cracked pads or unknown. read more

Terrible place. Salesman refused to discuss the car I wanted and tried to press me to look at more expensive car, when I tried to stick to what I wanted, he just turned around and walked away. His attitude was very disrespectful, treated me like dirt. So I bought at Cambridge Honda. Later, i tried to take care there for service. They charged me an arm and a leg and pre-emptively told me they wouldn't guarantee the work. Again left feeling angry and ill-treated. Recently I bought another Honda, and drove over 40 miles to avoid this place and buy at another dealer. It won't be convenient, but I don't ever want to see these jokers again. read more

Went here after test driving cars at the Toyota dealership down the road and the experience could not have been different/worse. The sales team at this place is over aggressive without bringing any substance to the table. The salesman I worked with basically just sat in the back seat of the car silently without giving us any information about the car we were driving. He bad mouthed other brands without knowing any actual information about them. Ironically the car they let us test drive shuddered noticeably when braking. At the end, the manager came over and was obnoxiously pushy and tried to get us to buy a car that day even though we had stressed that we were only in the research phase numerous times. Only two days after visiting this place and they've called me 4 times. I understand that their job requires them to be salesman, but these guys seemed to miss a few of the important middle steps and jump straight into "pay me money." I'd avoid this place if I were you and head to the Toyota Dealership down the street where my only complaint would be that they recommended this Honda dealership. read more

Friendly, helpful, and customer service oriented -- from the first phone call to departure. I had to change a flat over the weekend and had to have it fixed this morning, which was no problem on short notice (you'll notice I drove all the way to Danvers instead of down the road to Kelly Honda). They even changed my oil on request. No hard sell -- they mentioned I could use 3 other new tires (huge nail in the flat tire required replacement) as well as brakes at some point. Happy vibe in the waiting area from all the other customers. Everyone I dealt with was super nice. However, although I knew I would be getting a new tire based on the giant gaping hole and nail I found when I changed the flat, no one ever came out to verify or quote the service to be performed. Also, when they replaced the spare in my trunk, they put it in upside down, which meant I had to turn it around myself in order to get the floor of my trunk flat again. No biggie, but amateur nonetheless. Regardless, so much better than Kelly Honda I could laugh. The whole thing took 45 minutes. read more

We went buy a used Honda CRV and the sales woman was very good, head of sales was your typical personality- not much bargaining on the price. If my wife had not been there ,I would of walked out and waited for them to call me ,but she hates the wheeling and dealing. In fact we usually show up in separate cars , she exits stage right in the car pricing process. However , we showed up in one car. Last time I do that. The part of whole process that was incredibly offensive was the business/ loan person- Stephanie. Decided to put the car in my wife's name. She excellent credit and my car is in my name. Stephanie starts talking about an extended warranty on a Honda certified car. She gives the monthly payment without the breakdown of extended warranty/ car and does not tell us it is a 5 yr loan. I found that extremely sneaky but typical of the weasels at a dealer. Now my antennas are up. She finally tells us it is 5 yr loan. We always do 4yrs. The extended warranty was about 3500$ or 17% of the cost of the car. Expensive insurance for extended warranty. We had a CRV previously and did not have 3500$ in repairs with 147000k in 8yrs .My wife looks at me says isn't that why we buys Honda's because of their reliability. I said yes. Stephanie became a little incredulous and said " I know you are on a budget" I said to myself WTF do you know what our budget it is. Then I said if we wanted an extended warranty we can buy it after market. God knows I get enough calls about extending warranties. Stephanie said that is not possible with a certified car. That is not true because I called two after market extended warranty companies and it was possible. So found Stephanie to be a liar , deceitful and petulant. I will never go back to that dealership and not recommend them. I am not sure how they got Honda's Highest Award if that how they treat New costumers like that read more

The door trim fell off on the first day of ownership, a certified pre owned vehicle, was not given 184 point checklist, was not given CPO papers, previous owners lease papers containing personal information was still in glove box (including lease financing, names, addresses - very unprofessional and careless! This vehicle was on their lot for 4 months before I bought it. The only positive was the sales person. The finance manager was perturbed I had my own financing. A former lease vehicle - it was obvious it was not gone over well. Asked for restitution for repairing door trim- Never got it. read more

Dropped my car off at 7:30am. Got a return call at 11:45am that I needed two new tires and an alignment and that it would be ready in a couple hours. At 3pm I got a voicemail saying that they were waiting for the tires to be delivered. Since I was on a tight timeframe I wanted to push the work off but they proceeded to ignore my calls for an hour and a half. I took a cab there and they told me they started the work and it would be another hour. Shady business, poor communication and they made me absurdly late for another obligation. I bought a car here last fall and got a really great price. The end of model year is always a good time to buy. The customer service was the problem I had. I was currently in a lease from another dealer and Honda North told me the day my car would be ready. I turned in my lease and they told me the next day it would be a few more days because they were backed up. Then they tell me the new car has a cracked windshield and it will be a few more days because they have to get the right guy to do it...For some reason they couldn't get me a rental over the weekend. I was stranded for days. It was a very disappointing time when it should have been a very happy time. The most disconcerting part of the whole thing was that all the managers could do was say sorry. They didn't offer anything, of compensatory value, or really go out of their way at all. It left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Last Saturday I was in for an oil change which was fine. Spoke to a service rep about the purchase of a automatic car starter to be installed as a Christmas present for my wife. Made an appointment for Thursday and was told to drop it off early before 9 as these were done in the morning. Switched cars with my daughter so I would have a car to go to work and dropped it off the night before. My wife was called by the service Dept at 3pm Thursday that it was not done yet and could not give a time when it would be done. At 4pm I called and left a message on a machine as they don't answer live that I was coming to pick up the car. This is my own fault as I trusted this dealership who I have been a customer since the early nineties and purchased multiple cars. This is the third time I have been disappointed in the service in the last two years. I am done. I am done with this whole operation and will recommend others be done also! Enough! Also don't want to hear that this is a third party as it was booked through Honda or more about the tight labor market as was explained to me in the past. Not interested. What a joke. The test drive was very limited. All he basically let me do was go on the freeway for 1 exit and then it was back to the dealership. When I tested a Subaru at another dealership, the salesman told me to try it on regular streets, freeway (several miles), and back roads. The mechanic said my Civic was worth 2000 even though Kelly's Blue Book said it's worth over $5000. At worst, it's at least $4000. He said it's only 2000 because the front and rear bumper needs to be replaced, which is not true. One of those color markers would do the job. He also said my car couldn't be sold, and it would go to an auction. He then gave me a bunch of baloney about how the starting price of the car is lower than other dealership so that's why my car is worth only 2000. He said that other dealerships have a higher starting value for a new car so the trade-in value is worth a lot more. At this point, my sister got really angry, and we left. Today, my other sister, brother-in-law, and I were looking to buy a Subaru because the email that I got was such a great deal, but it was a mistake. So we went looking for a Honda dealership nearby because it's almost 9 PM, and the deal was about to expire. Guess what? The closest one was Honda North. We went there, found another salesman. We sat down, and he asked if we've been here before. Sister said no, so he started to enter my info into the computer. At this point, I told him that it should already be in the system because I talked to the other salesman the other day, and he probably entered my info into the computer. The guy stood up, made an angry face, and then left to talk to the other salesman without saying anything to us. When he got back, my sister complained about how rude he was, and then we left. This review is for the service department. Took my new car for an oil change. It was not vacuumed, no big deal. Went back for an inspection sticker and found my car with damage on the front bumper. Whoever changed the sticker was so lazy they did not even bother taking the glue from the last sticker off. Instead they put the new one above where the last one was. When I spoke the guy in charge of the service department, he was nice as can be but did not offer anything. I will never go here again. Check your cars thoroughly before and after if you go here. Unfortunately had to deal with Honda North for a second recall on same airbag issue. After they "fixed" it, they also informed us that by the way, there was an SRS warning light "before" they started the work. 100% not true. We are very mindful of any light on our dashboard. I spoke to a customer service rep and a manager and asked for my disagreement to be placed on the record. I doubt that happened. Both implied that I was wrong and it was not possible that the dealership did anything to trigger this light. It is very suspicious that they did not notify us before they did any work instead of after, when we could not concretely contest their claim. Now, we have to bring the car to our mechanic to see what this newly created issue is. Robots would be more welcoming than the staff at this dealership. Did I mention that a few years ago, they cheerfully let me off the lot with a car that had actually failed inspection? The manager's response: "We're not perfect". How reassuring. Stay away! If you have no choice but go there, make sure to take an up to the minute picture of your dashboard and any light that may appear on it before entrusting your car to them. PS: the only really sweet people there are the employees fetching cars on the lot. read more

I have always had used cars, and decided I wanted to invest in a brand new car. I came to Honda North with the intention just to browse - as I wasn't sure which vehicle style I was looking for. And I had a horrible experience. The salesman clearly just wanted to sell the car - he didn't listen to any of my concerns about the vehicles, or my budget. He just kept trying to go set up my information to start processing a sale. His name was Samy. I was very unhappy and left the dealership feeling more confused on the kind of car I was looking for, due to having no help whatsoever. Great service. Friendly sales reps. The Quick Lube is fast, reliable, honest and they respect your vehicle by not changing radio stations, they'll pick up and vacuum some of the trash and dirt on the floor, they'll put down floor paper so as to not soil your cars carpets. They always pass out drink coupons for all in your car to get a complimentary drink. The kids area/room is good but sometimes feels kind of germy. There is wifi and a TV but it's usually set to some news station. There are a few computer stations you can use. I buy all my vehicles from Honda North. Ask to see Gus in sales. I have to admit I was very impressed with the appearance of the entire place. The sales rep, Dave Moran, showed my father all of the important features of the car before he drove off and how to use them. He was very polite and helpful in my opinion. Had a really great experience here. Garrett, our salesperson, was very upfront about the car's features and didn't try to "sell" too much. The negotiation process was about as easy as it gets. He named a price. I countered with a lower one. He accepted. Knowing the invoice price of the vehicle, I knew I was getting a good deal. When it came time to sign the paperwork, the sales and financing department put in a lot of effort to coordinate with the insurance and loan companies to expedite the process. The waiting area wasn't bad by any means (free drinks, a little grill, wifi, workstations), but we had better places to be. They made the whole ordeal much more manageable. read more
