Bath houses are cleaned every morning. By the end of the day, they can get pretty disgusting. The first pool closes at 8 and the second pool is open until 10. It should be the other way around to be honest. Overall great campground, I would recommend and do not read into the negative reviews. You are not going to please everyone.

The bathroom is quite sizable with a separated toilet and shower or a fantastic tub if you end up with a lodge big enough for a family of 6. The kitchen is large enough for 2 people to cook together equipped with a full-size refrigerator which is great for a family who might not want to go out for meals every day to keep leftovers with or ingredients for meals. There is an oven that looked to be the size of one we have at home, a dishwasher and a washer and dryer! It really is a terrific place to stay at. The kitchen is also equipped with your cooking essentials as well as plates and silverware, should you choose to spend your mealtimes here. If I can be picky and say one bad thing, it's the fact that you can hear people most of the time so the walls might not be well-insulated. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay while on vacation. The accommodations were fantastic and I had a great time during my stay!

I stay approximately 25-30 room nights a year at Marriott properties for work, and as the owner of…read morea group travel company, I also book hundreds of Marriott room nights each year for our groups. Overall, this is a very nice property in a great location, but unfortunately, we experienced several issues during this stay. The TV in the living room never worked properly and kept turning itself off. I notified the front desk three different times and was initially told it would be fixed. Later, I was told the issue was due to the hotel's system being updated. That explanation did not really make sense since the TV in the bedroom worked without any problems. Another issue was the strong smell of marijuana coming from somewhere near our room. The smell was very noticeable throughout the hallway and stairwell and continued for our entire stay, from our arrival on Friday through our departure on Sunday. I understand there may not have been much the hotel could do if they could not determine which room it was coming from, and we did notice that they sprayed air freshener in the area in an attempt to address the smell. Unfortunately, it was so strong that the air freshener really did not help much, and the smell remained throughout the weekend. We also had an issue with the water taking an unusually long time to get hot. The biggest disappointment was the front desk experience. The staff members we interacted with were not particularly friendly or helpful, especially considering that we contacted them multiple times about the TV issue and were repeatedly told it would be addressed. This is a very nice property in a great location, and there was a lot to like about it. However, given the issues we experienced and the lack of follow-through from the front desk, this particular stay did not meet the level of service I normally expect from a Marriott property.

It was great at nighttime with drink service! Let's talk about the people; we got there at midnight at Michelle at the front desk was PHENOMENAL!!! She made a great first impression and handled all of our questions amazingly. Then when we walked by the office the next night, she RAN outside to talk to us! You can't beat that!!! The bartender at the pool, whose name is escaping us, was great, and made some killer cocktails!!! One one the things we loved best was the proximity to The Island. It is literally a 4 minute walk to all of the fun there! And a 15 minute ($12) Uber to Dollywood. The one negative during our time was issues in the restaurant, causing them to not serve hot food. That was unfortunate; but we WILL be back and have already told many people about The Wayback!
